Anyone have an inexpensive solution to protecting soft saddlebags from the muffler and plastic bits, and visa versa?

I use the Riky Cross rear frame supports. They keep my luggage away from the exhaust. I think they are an italian firm.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.
1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
Gaffer tape on the plastic stops it getting scratched.Originally Posted by Mustafa
Panniers (saddlebags) just need to be adjusted so they won't touch the exhaust. I this may need some extra straps or bungee cords. With mine, I tie the front of each pannier to the pillion footpeg hanger, and also have straps connecting between the two panniers under the luggage rack.

Sorry - I don't speak Brit so well. What is "gaffer" tape![]()

It's sticky tape, very wide, reinforced with fabric to make it strong. Water will not make it peel off.
