Got one, love it, use a tank bag most of the time. :P

Went for the City tank bag, the smallest one. I originally tried a larger one, but didn't have arms long enough to reach the bars! The City has a reasonable sized clear window for maps, and I generally have a guidebook, SLR camera/lens and 2nd lens, a paperback novel, supply of earplugs, photocopied travel/bike docs, and loose change for the tolls in it. There are 2 straps which convert it into a rudimentary rucksack. I tend to leave these attached when mounted on the bike, and just tuck them in so they don't flap around in the breeze. The build quality is pretty good, only some slight fraying after 5000 miles of use, including at least two months of being used as a rucksack as well. The only downside I've discovered so far is that the tank bag isn't inherently waterproof, but is supplied with a raincover, which has it's own dedicated pocket. (Also you can look a bit silly walking around with a map of Galway on your back!)

All in all one of my better purchases.

Got it sorted in the end. Had to cut a section out of the protective slieve that goes on the bottom edge of the tank though to allow the clips to hold correctly.
I mounted the front strap around the frame and not the headstock, and mounted the rear strap around the rear tank mounting bolts. The hole fo rthe fuel cap is a little elongated, but I assume this will streach after a few days / weeks of it being on the bike.

I want to get a small bag tomount onit, but according to BagLux, I have to buy a Trails bag to fit to it. this limits me. I really wanted the Athena Bag ( I guess I will have to do with a City Trail though)

I was going to say you have to take off the boge weld covers on the bottom of the tank. My strap goes round the Headstock under the cables and wires, that way the bag is pulled forward. You do not have a lot of choise withe the bags. Big and small.
