Yellow Lights, beam benders, black tape or angle adjustment?

Setting off on a 2 month trip around Europe and North Africa shortly on the Twin, and wondering what the best solution is to the old headlight problem. Thought about yellowing up oour Powerbronze Headlight protectors, but I'm not sure thats the best way.

Can you just adjust the angle of the lights so they dip t'other way or is tape necessary. If so, where do you stick it (so to speak)?! There don't seem to be any marking as you would find on a car headlight.

    Any thoughts?

I used gaffa tape last time. Works out a treat and the silver colour blends well with the lights. Gotta keep the famously good looks of AT unspoiled, you know

My AT came fitted with deflectors - I'll take a photo so you can see the position, should be the same place to fit duct tape or similar.

3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Personally would not bother with the lights either for one simple reason. I never travel on my bike at night when touring.
The lights is on all the time but don't think it would have such a huge affect on fellow commuters except them noticing you quicker. Travelling at night escpecially Africa is near suicidal unless you had no choice. Too many freakin animals wandering about.

    Just my 2p.

Yeah thanks guys. The plan was never to travel at night anyway, but figured it might pay to be all adjusted-up just in case - don't want to anger the natives anymore than necessary!

Trying to get a website up and running before we head off next Monday (27th), but time is running short and we've still loads of new parts to fit to the bikes...oh and we have to go to work too which really gets in the way of playing with the bikes! Damn M&P all to Hell for messing about with our order!

Just did a test run up to Edinburgh via GA Wells for the old saddle treatment and home via the Lake District this weekend. 1050 miles and no apparent problems (crosses fingers, touches wood etc). Radios and everything working a treat. Getting signifiacantly different fuel consumption between the 94 Twin and my 97. Mine's showing 10k more on the clock and I'm getting 30 or 40 miles more per tank...curious.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again "M&P are a f*****g bunch of useless idiots". I would encourage everyone to never order a single thing from them ever again.

Remember that letter that was circulating written by a guy who was on a rant to his internet service provider? All comments apply in equal measure to M&P.

    W**kers!

    I feel much better now.

If I can help at all then let me know.
Interestingly would anyone be interested in a facility that allows you to update details of your trip to the site, so that family, friends, etc can see what you're up to? It can all be done via a web browser. Just a thought anyway.
