    Supsension link bearings

I'll be servicing my suspension link in the next month and was wondering if it's time to replace the link bearing too.

My bike has done 30k miles and there're no problems with the link at the moment, but I'd rather change it now, than just chance it before a big trip.

The question is - how often do they need to be changed and what's the best place to get a replacement from?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
I serviced all my suspension bearings at around 40k km. Absolutely no wear visible. Good thing to check though. I just took everything apart, left the bearings in the suspension parts and gave them a good new grease-up.

After putting it back together the suspension felt the same, only thing that improved was satisfying my consience that the bearings were okay.

You should be allright if you're not too rough with offroading etc.

    Cheers,
    Tijn

Just done mine today ! and its doesn't take long also whipped out the swing arm as well (replacing rear shock).
Mines done 80 Kms no real wear to show and nothing to concern me . Its the first time the swingarm been out and it still had the Honda grease but no wear marks etc .The chain side of s/arm has two ball bearings and one needle bearing. The two ball bearings are held in by a circlip. I took theses out but there was no need to still full of grease .
Spent more time cleaning all the muck of the bits and touching up parts of the frame.

Strip the back end out, wipe as much crap/old grease from the bearings as you can (be careful not to let any needle bearings fall out) and pack plenty of LM grease in there.
Torque all bolts to spec and wipe excess grease away.

    Ride and enjoy.
