    Hey Modrover...

With a little more effort your bike could look this good.

Doesn't look too bad from a distance, does it?

It helps that they're a bit out of focus too.

The sticker sums it up really.

A seamless repair to the bodywork following bouncing it off a Micra.

I only taped it up to stop if flapping itself apart on the motorway.

No idea how many times it's been round...

You could eat your dinner off that.

Nice to see a well cared for example!
Duct tape is so useful, mine just has one discrete piece on the left side where the lower dzus fastener used to be, don't know what happened to it, hopefully it ended up in an Audi's front tyre
I see you went for the more expensive lines of tippex to indicate speed in mph, mine has the cheaper dots of tippex.
pretty much dinge free (at the moment), but currently in dry dock 'cos there's a big nothing where the exhaust should be! (at the welders).
I'm sure Yen would approve of the strict (non) cleaning regime, I have a good collection of squishy bugs, from riding thro' the Cheshire/ Derbyshire countryside, but nowhere near as grubby as yours.
Perhaps not full marks for presentation, but it still gets you about I hope!
Just one question to both you guys, if it was such a sunny day when you took your photo's why weren't you out riding?

It might not look like it, but I really like that bike.

It was cosmetically challenged when I bought it. The ding on the tank was done by a previous owner. I added the sticker.

I have since took the ball and ran with it as far as damage goes though. It got written off a few years ago in a hardish frontal. I couldn't bring myself to part with it and managed to score a complete front end off ebay pretty cheaply. Quite a result for a rare bike in the UK.

It's nice to have a bike that I don't worry about getting grubby etc. The last time I cleaned it was when the insurance assessor was coming for a look at it about 18 months ago. I just keep it covered with WD40. It's pretty sound under all the cack. I use it as my commuter hack and put about 400 odd miles a week on it.

Oh, and I had been out earlier for a pootle on my 1150 Adv.

3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Well, first let me thank you for the mention

Second... woohoo if that RD03 doesn't look it's actually won the PD itself!

I really like your bike. One thing I've noticed looking at yours and mine. I WANT THAT HEADLAMP GRILL COVER! (it actually appears to be interchangable between the twin lamp like yours and the single lamp like mine)

So... who's got one of those headlamp grills they'd like to offer up to me? :P

    With

    Without

When you get out of bed (is PST 7 or 8 hours behind British "Summer" Time), PM your address, you helped me make my mind up...I don't like it and you can't get behind it to scrape off the flies (not that I ever do).
Don't worry I'll clean off the flies, don't want to get into trouble with US Immigration!
Not convinced it will fit yours? check out screws top and bottom not on each side, think I may go for the perspex option?

This is why I ain't playing out

    And finally....

p.s. DaveS if your watching how do I get my lovely sharp pics down to a size the site can cope with without them looking like they were taken on an instamatic?
Or alternatively how did Pussyhorse get a 100kb file past the sofware?

The 50KB limit applies to those images that you upload to the site. It doesn't apply when you link to images that are hosted elsewhere.

I have to enfore the 50KB limit as the images are stored in the database and it can balloon to rather a large size very quickly if I doubled the limit.

As to how you resize pics, well its certainly a skill and not one that I can say that I've mastered. The easiest way to do it is to follow the instructions posted up here.

    Thanks Dave
I really ought to have a web site by now to host my pics! but being a little challenged in this area I'll probably end up getting my son to do it for me (god only knows what he'll put on it )
