Well I bit the bullet today to try and find why the bike ran like a pig in the mid range.
I started off by stripping all the bodywork off and giving it a service. That was the easy bit. Next the tank had to come offwhat a palava that was. Anyway I managed to lube up the choke cable but to be honest they moved freely anyway. I noticed that the spark plugs in the front cylinder were very sooty so it may be the choke sticking on.
When I came to have a close look under the airbox I noticed that it wasn't sitting snug on the carb barrels. I managed to get that sitting nice and decided to put the tank back on and give it a go.

Well i'll be bugg$red..... The throttle response was instant and when you hold the revs at 3k there was no coughing or spluttering. The bike ran like a dream. So I don't know if it was the choke or the airbox not sitting properly. But well pleased non the less.
So I thought I would treat myself to a new lid..... Caberg Justissimo with flip down pilot visor in Titanium.![]()
What a lovely lid.
