Got them fitted..... Panniers. Piccies included

Well I thought I would show you all my new set up.

I am well pleased and a big thanks to Paul Cave for fitting them.

I'm off to the "Big trial bike" meet in Ripley now so must dash.

Those boxes look real sturdy to me. But did you want them mounted that high?

    Height of boxes

It's not a major porblem at all if you think about it, if you have a pillion on the weight is so much higher any way.

I've never found any problems at all, both filtering or riding at speed as I am known to do from time to time. The only issue is fule consumption which is the same problem no matter waht panniers you use.

    Regards

And thanks for all the postive comments

    Nice set-up.

They do look sturdy. Much better than the flexible touratech cases that bend out of shape as soon as they fall over. Do the lids come off or are they hinged? If I am to kit my AT out for touring again I want something other than touratech. How much did this cost?

I think I saw a German with a set of these but he had lowered the exhaust to get the boxes to sit flush with the seat. Anyone know how you can do that? Is this just a home made adaption or one that somebody sells?

All you need now is a cool place to go.

    How Much?

I supply the complete set to XRV members for £396, if you have nay issues I will even fit them, as both LondonBubble and Blues and Twos will testify.

As for height they are designed to go above the exhaust and you couldn't really lower them, however there is no real need. I have ridden with them at this height without an issue, even with my girlfriend on the back. I have a Remus end can on and the others have a standard exhaust.

Get in touch with me via www.eibcltd.co.uk if you want more details

they look the bollox. One comment though when following someone with panniers like that fitted to a bike, its like following an aluminium garden shed !!! .. all you see is this L A R G E shiny shed like thing going down the road. Quite bizare. They look nice though.

I'm sure you're sick of height questions by now but....

..I take it there's no problem having them there panniers and a big (48l) top box? It's just that it looks (to the untrained eye) that they extend far enough back and high enough to maybe hit a top box.
