    Center stand question

Guys - I have a Five Stars center stand that came mounted on my 98 AT. It is impossible to get it up on the stand by myself (marginally fit), and is not easy with even two able bodies. Is this normal?
    Thanks, Mike

Put you right leg on centerstand, grab bar on handlebars with your left hand, and grab tail of your bike with right hand. Jump on your leg, push up with right hand and pull backwards with left hand. Do all this at one moment and after a lot of hard work u will be abel to do it.

ako ti nesto nije jasno pitaj me na ovom nasem jeziku da ti pojasnim detaljno ja sam se namucio do jaja.

Thanks Dane. One critical piece of info missing: which side of the bike am I standing on :P

My Bosnian/Croatian/Serbo is not so good (I'm American) so I asked one of the local girls in my office what the "do jaja" meant. She turned red and ran away.

It's slang and it means "a lot" in this case

On LEFT side of bike. It's good if there is someone to help you a bit, standing on right side, just in case not to drop bike

You mount a horse from the left, sou mount your bike from the left. which means you mount the bike on the stand from the left. :P

Thanks for the tips all. What I'm really wondering here is whether the Five Stars stand is taller than some others because I have owned other bikes, heavier bikes, and have never had this kind of difficulty.

Anyone else have the Five Stars stand?

    Thanks, Mike

It might be a good idea to make a lifting handle if you don't already have one, it attaches to the nearside pillion footrests mounting bolts and does make it easier to lift bike onto the stand, sorry i don't have a picture, perhaps someone could post a picture if they have one.
