    Cush drive bearing

I removed the rear wheel on my RD04 last night for a tyre change (new bike to me, which I havent ridden yet) and noticed that the bearing in the cush drive housing was loose. I removed the bearing for inspection. I expected the bearing to have spun in the housing, but there are no apparent witness marks to show this. Has anyone out there seen this before on there AT?

    Regards,
    Smiffy.

Well, closer inspection after a wash looks like the bearing has spun in the housing. I'll run a series of centre dot marks around the bore and fit a new bearing with loctite retainer. Should work o.k, I've done this once before on a wheel bearing housing, But if anybody has cush drive housing for an RD04, then please give me a yell.

    Thanks.

Using Loctite "Bearing Fit" on it's own should be Ok if the bearing is just loose (i.e. lost it's "fit") if it's much more than this you need to consider machining and fitting a liner (if there's enough wall thickness) or getting a new one.
Centre pop marks combined with Loctite will work Ok for a while, but the pop marks will soon wear flat.
