    Blown Engine

    had a blown engine recently due to insufficient amt of engine oil,resulting in crack engine casing...so far..welded the casing..was wondering if any1 can find me a camshaft..pls advice...

    Glad to hear I'm not the only one to whom this has recently happened. I managed to destoy my TDM's engine about a month ago. Decided to sell it to the breakers for about 25% of what it was worth before the egine went. Still, it gave me the ideal excuse to buy the AT so it wasn't all bad.

    And no, I have no idea where you can get a camshaft. Good luck!

    Mate it might be worthwhile giving us the details i.e.

    Is it a RD04 RD07, year etc etc.

    Where abouts are you based?

    my model is RD07,2001,black n gold ,base in singapore btw had the block welded but still hving probs with the crankshaft instead of the cam shaft that i mention earlier...found a used engine block y'day frm a shop at my place,the problem is the mechanic already used the crankshaft...wat im lackin now is the crankshaft...was wonderin if i had it repaired would it be as gd as b4,wld i still be able to go on long trips...im unwilling to sell my @,its the best bike i've riden.

    How come your engine oil level went so low ? was it neglect or somthing ele..... just curious

    Frankly speaking....neglect!!!!!!!didn chck the oil level...was for a long trip...listentening to Ipod(Metallica was on..wat do u expect,was singing along)didn pay attention to the red lite on the cockpit.so basicly my fault.
