    Just One Tooth !!!!!!!

    Just one tooth!

    Thats all thats missing!!

Being the skinflint I am, I bought a chain and sprocket kit off of eBay.

Now don't panic all you lot out there, I've NO intention of using the ****e front sprocket supplied, as I've already fitted an OEM Honda one.

My predicament is, the kit I bought was badly advertised, and only after I have received it, have I noticed its for the 93-2001 models, i.e NOT my RD04. I should have had a 46 rear tooth, instead I have received a 45.

So, has anyone fitted a 45 tooth rear on an RD04, and what were the results?? My guess is not much, a drop in revs, so it should be OK, as long as the bolt holes line up. Are all rear hub bolt patterns the same??

    Comments please

    Ta verymuch

Don't know if it will fit but, if it does you won't notice the difference being one tooth out. As long as the holes line up and the pitch is the same it should be fine. If your not happy though I'd as the seller if you could send it back and/or complain to ebay about his description. LB.

I recently fitted a rear sprocket 2 teeth less than standard. Did not notice any difference to begin with.
Then on a long trip (4000 miles) I found more MPG and roll on acceleration above 80mph seemed more responsive. Top speed was slightly up to.

    12 INCH,
Nothing wrong with OEM parts my original C&S lasted 40,000miles.

Thanks Man, the answer I wanted.

I don't think I got the sprocket kit for a bargain, but I just really couldn't be ar$ed sending it back, so it looks like I'll be using it as long as the bolt holes line up (which I reckon they will) and the rear hub is the same for all models.

Extra MPG and knocking a few revs off will be a boon, as my old RD04 bitch does all it can to shudder itself apart after 4500rpm. If it wasn't built by Mr Honda, I'd probably be worried something nasty was about to happen (main or big end bearings) but I treat her mean to keep her keen, so she only gets a few quid spent on her each month. Real tight bar steward I am!!

    Regards

    Hi Guys
I bought a genuine OEM (expensive) C&S 16 front and 46 rear. The bike was running 16 front 40 rear when I bought it. After 500 miles I bought a new 40 rear 'cause I was revvin the t*ts off it at 90 on the way to work.
Now she runn about 5000 revs at 80 - much more civilised on the posterior!!
