With my MRA Varioscreen which I haven't fitted yet there's a little plastic piece about 3-1/2" long that supposedly fits behind the screen somewhere according to the instructions.
Where? I can't work out at all where its supposed to go?

Isn't that for the vent at the bottom of the screen in the fairing?

Having just had a look at the front fairing and seen the small air vent there I think you're dead right Dave; it makes sense now.
The purpose of the small air vent of course is to allow some airflow inside the screen to prevent the 'vacuum' effect which would otherwisw cause some buffeting.
With the MRA screen of course this vent becomes redundant!
Did you get the regular varioscreen or the touringvarioscreen? Did you consider that latter?
I'll probably go with an MRA soon as well. Just can't decide which is the better model for a tall guy on an AT (me).
Mike
Hi Mustafa.
I got this one. I haven't fitted it yet as I'm still doing lots of work to the bike over winter. Which model have you got?

I haven't ordered one yet, but was thinking about going with the other one. Let me know how you like yours once you have it mounted.
Cheers, Mike
OK, I was thinking about getting one, my screen is very noisy (i'm tall as well) & I didn't know there were two types, has anyone got any experience and would know the best one for a 6'2" lump?![]()
Did you get yours from HPS?![]()

I recently fitted the vanilla one, and I'm about 6'2". Comments and pix about mine on this page:

Just retrieved this from a private message I sent to someone a few days later...
"Hi, I bought it from 'P&P Seating' in Birmingham for £99 + £6.95 shipping. Their phone number is 0121 784 4001, URL www.ppseat.co.uk. Good service - they said they'd have to order it in but it came a week earlier than they said.
To update you on the review, I have now tried the screen out in different conditions. My original review was a bit 'ecstatic' and based on the performance in calm evening air. It's not quite as ecstatic riding down the M1 on a blustery day or in the rain - you'd still want to wear earplugs for long hauls - but it's a fine screen and highly recommended."
Wow, brill write-up, thanks Markh. Reading all the other write-ups, this screen business seems a bit of a mine-field,(Go for a short screen/Tall screen?) but as your the same height, and it works for you I've got to take that as a good recommendation.
- My bike came with a Powerbronze flip screen which was brilliant at 90mph, but at 70mph (more common speed!) had severe buffeting (rocking my helmet).I couldnt live with that, so I hacksawed the flip off (40mm shorter), wow what a difference, no buffetting - but now the slipstream off the top of the screen hits the helmet at eye level and is really noisy!

- So the MRA looks a good option then.Ta.
Miggy, l'll be interested to know how it performs too!

I had the one below on my two other ATs which were RD04s ('91 and '93) and as far as I know is the only one available for the RD04, but I might be wrong, and it worked really well much better than the standard screen which I found to be very poor. I'm 5'8".
I've got a '96 RD07 now and as far as I know, the bigger screen is the only one you can get for that model but again I might be wrong. I never felt the need to use the plastic trim supplied for the screen edges as the edge finish is perfectly acceptable without it.
I got all of them from HPS who were very good and quick. If you check out their site you can see whats available.
