    Pegaso fuel pump failure

Hi, Has anyone come across a fuel pump failure for the new Pegaso?

It's a Stata or Strada model - something like that. It's 2005 model in orange with blue wheels if that helps.

It's a member on here - Tux, who has recently gone full power and opted for the Aprillia from her 125 Varadero

It's being quoted at 500 quid plus!!

    Any help would be appreciated

    TA! Shel

typical Aprilia and it will be 3 months to arrive as well, normally it is quicker to walk to Italy and get the spares than wait for them to be sent by Aprilia, oh and york****e aprilia AKA ultimate parts in nottingham are useless as well all they do is fob you of with excuses until after you have waited so long you try to cancel the order they tell you they are going to charge you 30% cancellation fee, then you haveto threaten them with trading standards because they cannot supply spares in a resonable timespan and a bill for hire of another bike etc, and the parts turn up the next day albeit pattern parts, so repair it sell it and forget aprilia i reckon i did

just out of interest i looked on Aprilia yorkshires site £428.21 but i would phone order it not online and ask how long it will be https://www.apriliayorkshire.co.uk/c...%20pump%20cpl.

Thanks Mervin.....looks like a bit of a wait then. Pity as it's a nice bike as well.

I've been looking around, perhaps the Yamaha XT fuel pump will fit? Is it not the Yamahe engine or is it Aprilia's own?

She commutes on it so will have to sort something soon

    Hi Shel,

The Strada engine is a modified XT660 block (see quote below from an Aprilia press release.

Aprilia today announced the all new Pegaso 650 Strada at the Intermot Munich motorcycle show. Based around a development of the Yamaha 660 single cylinder engine, the new bike is described as an "agile urban supermotard". The engine is built in Italy, not far from Aprilia's Noale factory, and has been breathed on by Aprilia's technicians to achieve the mid and top end rush so typical of Aprilia's bikes.

So you might have a bit of luck with the Yamaha fuel pump...

Maybe if you take the pump to a Yamaha dealer, they can tell you if it'll work...

    Re: Pegaso fuel pump failure

I recently got one of these Pegaso Strada' and so far good bike. So I joined this Aprilia forum 2006+ Pegaso Trail / Strada / Factory [Archive] - Page 4 - ApriliaForum sponsored by AF1 Racing, inc.

I had a quick search and there's some talk of pump failures and the reasons why (running dry and pump overheats) but only talk of a cheaper alternative is from a R/SXV 450/550 (assume this is an Aprilia??) but still 250 yoyos.

maybe a more detailed seach might find you something.

    Good luck
