just renewed my policy with Ebike, so far very good. £379 fully comp for my o4 Hayabusa, my 04 sv650, my 05 ktm and my 54 transalp. last year with carole nash i paid £440, this year they quoted £571. Ebike actually give discounts for crash bungs / bars and race cans and full race systems werent a problem! norwich union (in india) quoted £700+ for standard bikes but wouldnt touch "modified" bikes. i can see a lot of companies losing customers to ebike!

yes bit what makes it even better is that my busa has upgraded suspension, dymag wheels, front and rear braking wavey discs with carbon fibre rotors, goodridge hoses, crash bungs,carbon fibre hugger and mudguard, deristricted, power commander,filter, carbon akrapovic race cans, an iridium double bubble screen, digi gear indicator, harris rearsets and they just said not a problem!!! :shock: ( and the sv's not far off the same spec!)

Thinking of the old adage " Anything that seems too good to be true usually is " Has anyone had to claim from E-bike yet,and if so how were they.

I pay £75 Third party fire and theft which includes No Claims protection (up to two claims) and riding other bikes (any size) that don't belong to me (3rd party only). I'm with Master Quote. Excess is compulsory £200, voluntary nil.

I can only say that for the first time ever well impressed with an insurance company. Insured my sidecar outfit which took the best of 10 minutes on line if that TPFT -> £53 which includes European breakdown cover for the year :shock: Documents arrived the following day which is even more impressive 8)

MY @ insurance runs out in September and will definitely at these rates and service add it to Ebike :thumbleft:

Just bought insurance from ebike yesterday, £184 full comp. 4 quid cheaper than carole nash with protected no claims and helmet an leathers cover as well. Too good to refuse.

Westhill Insurance in Bexleyheath kent (Westhill Insurance Services 0800 298 3312) ....... Mine was £99 tpf&t for the year 37Yo with a SP30 (out of date but still there for insurance ....why?) in SE18 postcode, and £100 excess, underwritten by Highways Insurance

At the risk of propagating the Ebike fan club, insured my lads Suzuki GS125 (learner 17 yr old, prior to doing his CBT) for £559 TPFT (was quoted up to £1000 elsewhere) and my RD03 (7 points and a total car write off last year) for £153 TPFT, they accepted my "modifications" and listed them on the policy, both came with breakdown recovery, I've had two breakdowns since "fuel problem" and a puncture, both arrived within 45 mins, easy to deal with, even for a grumpy old git like me :shock:

Another vote for e-Bike from me. Renewal from M/C Direct was £167 this year. Changed to e-Bike for £94.50 fully comp, lower excess (£175), legal cover and breakdown cover included and protected no claims.

Ah yes lower excess £175 same as Steve, Bennets wanted £250

eBike for me = £197 (£375 excess)
Bennetts = £120 (£150 comp. excess)

Both for same bike, same cover, no mods - all I can work out is that eBike can't like the IOM, even though we've got the 2nd lowest rate of motorbike theft in the British Isles :dontknow:

Looks like I'll be staying with Bennetts again when my insurance runs out in a month.

One weird thing is that eBike seem not to care what job you do, as long as your not involved with professional sports or celebrities :?:

:cry: :cry: Unfortunately youthfulness is no longer on my side (unless you consider 1/3 of a century youthful) :P :P . And i had this nick name for decades before XXX and Buffy. Although i did stop using it when they came out for a while :lol: ! Having said that I shamefully admit i like XXX :oops:! Well i will still keep trying to find cover i can afford.. could it really be brum that is killing me? and not just for insurance!!!

Since it's my 48th birthday today then yes you're just a puppy :lol:

Insurance can be much higher in cities (higher crime rates) sometimes as much as double, it's a postcode lottery I'm afraid.
