Hi guys,
I've just found this site about 15 minutes ago and wanted to be a part of it, I hope I will find my problems' solutions here...

I live in Turkiye (you may call it Turkey but I don't want to call it like that :? ) well, my biggest problem about my bike is the abnormal fuel consumption, I went to all authorized Honda services, I had bought it in last July from the first owner, all people said that, the bike is in good condition, its sound, acceleration etc. I have a K&N air filter (it's clean), new spark plug, the valve clearances were controlled, I had my carburettor dismantled two times it's also clean, however in the last operation we have detected the diaphragm (vacuum piston) had a small dent on it  but it costs about 120 EUR! it's only a small rubber!!! the technician tried to repair it with an instant drying glue, :) after that operation my consumption didn't decrease, I don't accelerate very much in lights and try to ride between 3.000-5.000 RPM in city traffic,

what can I do?

I hate to say that but it drinks 7.5-8 lt/100 km!!! when I have been using the clean original air filter, and after replacing with the K&N it has been consuming about 5.5 lt/100 km in city, 4.5-5 lt/100 km outside city

That's 35-38mpg, so way down on what you should be getting - I haven't dropped below about 52mpg yet (5.4l/100km), so it seems that the K&N air filter has brought you back up to a similar economy to mine (4.5l/100km is 63mpg - I'd love to get that :D ).

so? is it possible to drink too much because of the expensive f...ing rubber? if so, I must buy a new one in order not to change my bike? :D

how about increasing the performance with K&N? I had been told that, when we change the jet kit with the appropriate one, we can get an additional 2-3 HP, is it true? is it worth to make these kind of things?

According to David Silver Spares (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk) in the UK, a carburettor assembly for a '91 is £99 (€145), so I'm not sure on the diaphragm price that you have been quoted - seems expensive :o

You could ask them for the price of just the diaphragm and the whole carb for your year NX :dontknow:

And wasn't there a diaprhagm specialist that someone posted somewhere?
Don't remember the costs though.

The diaphragm + gas-slide appears to be one part. Number 13 on the microfiche below. Honda partnr is 16111-MN9-014.

CMS (http://www.cmsnl.com/products/16111-man-620-piston_16111mn9014.html) has it listed for 85 euro, but that's without VAT, so 120 euro doesn't sound that farfetched really...

(Okay it's a lot for a piece of rubber, but that's what you get for having a Honda. :? )

I hope that is the only problem for now, I will buy as soon as I find one, will make a survey on some dealers around at the weekend...anybody help in finding steering head bushes? when braking I feel the head moving to front and back...

Hey guys - my bits have arrived, and most of the carb/insulator (manifold) is in :D . I have a little dilemna though :!: Where do hoses 14 & 16 go :?: are they just breather tubes hanging loose :?: Hey - it was two weeks ago when I took them out....I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning  - Thanks

Yeah, they're breather tubes, one goes straight down, one straight up. ;-)

I think they made it like that so it doesn't suck in dirt and/or dumps the fuel out on the underside of the bike instead of all over the internals.
