Great service from Motobins - ordered them last Monday afternoon, they said that they would have them from Hepco & Becker by Saturday and I would have them by Wednesday. What day is it today?
Fitting when weather allows - and will be getting the rear subframe strengthened too.
Sam please show pics when installed

Nice and shiney :D Piccies please, oh and a nice little story about the whole bolt twiddling bit too.
Must admit to never wanting hard luggage, I quite like my throw overs. Light, and when I've set up camp they go in the tent and the bikes free for some exploring. Then again I've only travelled to a place, set up base, and riden around. I might have a different view if I toured long distance :?
What's the opinion out there? Obviously Samwise is in the hard luggage camp :) The rest of you?

Not necessarily - even without hard luggage, the frames would keep soft luggage off the hot exhaust.
One benefit to hard luggage (I'll be getting Caveman's Alpos panniers once I've decided the size I want) is security - stop off somewhere and you can leave the bike without as much worry regarding your stuff.
Price was £153.92 incl.VAT plus delivery.
The bolt twiddling will come, but I may get the subframe strengthened first - not sure yet, but I have read that the rear s/f is a weak point on Dommies :dontknow:

Probably true, the original exhaust also gives it more strength (mounted at 3 points per can) and since you've got the single sided produro which just hangs off of one bolt it'll probably be a good idea to beef up the subframe a bit.
So far I haven't had any problems with a rollbag full of camping gear on the back, but I guess alu cases will be a lot heavier still.
Simple solution might be to get a length of copper (water) pipe, hammer the ends flat, drill some holes in the flat bits, and mount them between the old exhaust mounting points. Bit of silver paint if ya like, instant trellis frame. :-)

I might do this myself, just 'cos it'll look good. :-)
