Hey all, I think I want to fit a high front mudguard !

Does anyone know where to get one :dontknow:

The type of thing I'm after is like 'Jaffa-Cakes' as shown here (http://img446.imageshack.us/img446/6247/020320062nr.jpg)

I fitted a CR 500 in red - nearly matches the bikes colour.

I got it from my local mx shop - mudguard was made by UFO and about £20 i think.

If i remeber i had to drill out the 4 holes to fit it to the bottom yoke, and also drill a central hole in the guard for the speedo cable to go through.

I had to find some bolts and washers to space and fit the guard as it does not come with any fittings.

You will need to remove the plastic plate under the bottom yoke - it is a guide for the speedo cable and stops water/mud going up into the dash.

Its then up to you if you remove or keep the fork brace which is under the existing guard - i took mine off and have not had any problems or noticed any difference.

Good luck.

yay my bike's famous! i got mine from my local shop, it was about £16, i had to drill the holes in it for the bolts, but i only put 2 in and needed to put spacers between the top of the mudguard and the yoke as the pipe for the front brake was in the way :) i wonder what one of these in black would look like though:
