1 Royston is indeed the dogs do dahs - Very knowledgeable, very friendly and above all very enthusiastic.

2. Max power was 56.02bhp at the wheel

3.Bike is running a tad rich in places but is otherwise healthy and not melting pistons.

4. Next move is to put the smaller main jets in and have another go. Royston also thinks that the 2 40mm holes may be a tad much and would experiment with partially covering them

Does anyone know of a Dyno in the South Wales area?

Wouldn't mind a run on one to make sure nothing is melting after fitting a dynojet, air filter and can.

Ta!

ooooppps should have read your 1st post.
taff speed only do two stokes but if you want to slap your bike on to see if your BHP per pounds has paid off its worth giving them a bell.

Been down there today. They will do a couple of simple runs to check the jetting is OK for about £20.

I'm not bothered about BHP & torque. I'm sure both are up but only by a small amount.

I just want to make sure pistons aren't melting.

Change of plan, going to Reps M/cycles in Caldicot this weekend.

Royston(the bossman) does all the dyno work himself, used to work with/for Phil McCallen so I presume he knows his stuff.

Should be interesting.

Following on from this, Ive been for another go this morning.

I changed the main jets for the smaller of the two pairs found in a dynojet kit (120's instead of the previously fitted 124's) and also taped up the 2x 40mm holes in the airbox.

1st run was down 3hp and running rich as rich thing.

so we removed the tape from the holes and ran again, this time the results were as expected with a gain of about 1hp, but more importatntly the fuel mixture being spot on, both through the gears and at cruise.

So the final set up is, K&N filter, airbox with two extra 40mm holes, dynojet kit with 120 mains and the Remus with the baffles out.

This doesn't give significant hp or torque gains as such, but does spread the power & torque much further through the rev range giving a nice plus in real world riding.

Also, as the bike is now fuelling spot on I should see a gain in mpg :D

All told an interesting exercise.
