Okay here's one then... ;-)

Threads that I've read keep showing up as threads I haven't read yet.
Only "mark all read" does what it says.

Badly split from it's original place, by me..... :|

But... can you describe what you're doing, because without that we can't work out what's up.

Are you, for example, using the "view new posts since last visit" facility, opening the new threads in a new window etc.

Be as descriptive as you can please.

What I just did:

* Hit bookmark for the forum
* Click "problems" group
* Click this topic
(read it ;-))
* Click Forum Index
* Click "problems" group again
* This topic still shows as unread...

Using the "mark as read" button seems to work, most of the time.

Yesterday I'd marked the whole lot as read, went back to the index saw that everything was showing "white", then went back a few minutes later and all the topics that I'd already read were marked as unread again, with no new posts.

I'm using Safari.

--edit--

Just posted this, read my own post back, and the topic still shows unread posts.

Ah crud.

It may very well be a Safari issue.

Just tested with Firefox (on the same mac) and it all just worked fine...

Thenagain I'm on a few more phpbb-type boards besides XRV, and this is the only one this happens on...

Be great to find out if it is a safari issue, I'm using Firefox here as well, on ubuntu.

Have you tried to repeat this issue on other forums specifically?

This will almost certainly be down to Cookies as that's how the forum knows what you've seen and what you haven't.
I've had problems when I view at home and at work, as different cookies are saved.
I also have problems when I use different browsers, like switching between Opera and Firefox, again down to cookies.

Crap. Which, ofcourse, included the login cookie...

Hmm. So that was that...

Works now. Lots faster too, somehow... ;-)
