Hi all
Finally got here via a link from the ADV website courtesy of Samwise, sorry don't know your name yet! Had a quick look at your gallery, very nice until I got to the C15 pics, sadly I can remember them coming out! Planes were nice too but,if you want to hear a Merlin you have got to come to Kent.
Have just purchased my second NX650,the wife made me get rid of the first one because "I was to old for that sort of thing",I regretted it ever since.
Bought the"Yellow Peril" on E-whatsit for 900 sovs, 97 R plate 25,000 on the clock, would appear to have been off-roaded but,not quite to destruction, has a nice line in cable ties, holding bits and pieces on,and a really nice yellow paint job,oh yes I almost forgot,it comes complete with,a set of tyres with those nice little words"not for highway use"written on the sides.
It made life really interesting the first time I took it on the road,a bit like riding on marbles! Also came with a spare rear rim(Akront) and a spare set of stainless cans(I don't think road legal)which I might sell on ebay,to fund some new cable ties.
I look forward to spending many fruitful hours on the forum,as I have not yet found that holiest of holies, the NX650 workshop manual.
Dave
ps.Frayed, because I shall be 59 next month

Thanks for the greet,it makes a change to be on a forum where people are fairly light hearted about their wheels. :)
I've been helping a friend who posts on a site dedicated to Merc G wagens, and I'm telling you, those guys are anal about their beloved 4x4s,someone ought to tell them,to misquote George Orwell," 4 wheels good,2 wheels better ",or something like that!
Will try to take some pics when it stops raining, yeah we've been on a drought order for 18 months and,it rains on and off,all day! :(
I don't know how noisy the cans are,I'll find out the make and let you know. :D

Cans are made by a firm called MTC,and having had a look at a few comments about their systems,it would appear that they could be road legal after all.
Their website is being updated at the moment, but I'll try to get some more info.
I'll take a pic of them, and post the same time as I put the pics of the Yellow Peril up !

.....and yet another welcome to the site Dave......59 is nothing to be a "frayed" of, besides - now you've got the Dommie you're 18 again ! It's like a miracle drug :D Don't forget, whatever you do to the bike - share it with us. Strange innit ? whenever anyone mentions Kent I think of Bedknobs and Broomsticks (probably the best movie ever made). Is Pepperinge Eye a real place ?

Kent.
Used to be the "Garden of England",better known now as "the Patio of France"with all the concrete being laid courtesy of our Dep.PM. Ol' Buster Gusset himself.
My last posting was in Ashford so I decided to stay, and where I live it's still fairly quiet, originally from Shepherds Bush, and no I wouldn't go back,I used to work up in London, then I saw the light, took a cut in wages, and work for a graphics firm locally, and laugh at the traffic reports.
One of the highlights of the year is a nice little event called "Wings and Things" that happens at an old WW2 grass airfield in Woodchurch, last year it had a flying display that included,Spitfire,Mustang, both with Merlin engines,Gary Newman's Harvard, and a good old Flying Fortress,on top of that loads of old bikes, and cars, even the missus enjoys it.
But the real joy down here are all the old bendy roads we have, they build new roads that are faster that all the traffic uses, and leave the old roads to likes of me.
As for Bedknobs and Broomsticks, the only thing I seem to remember, was a really good football match.........

That's right Dave...and until a few years back the Royal Marines used to have their winter training here as well as just up the road in the polar circle.
The football match between the true blues and the dirty yellows was the best game ever to be televised :D What sticks in my mind though, is that the youngest lad (Paul I think) was given the magic bedknob by Angela Lansbury. A bit later in the film she needed it to make the bed fly...and when she tried to explain that they should take a journey on the bed to find professor Emilius Brown in London...the kid ask's "What's that got to do with my knob ?    I can't imagine that there was a dry eye on the film set :!:
I'm going to go and get some psychiatric help now...........
