I'm getting a feeling of Deja Vu here...

So in honour of a previous post on this very subject...

Ssshhhh I've come in here for some peace and quiet.... :D

Sorry just recalling some classic threads. I think the reason it's quiet is one of the following...
The vara boys spend all day on those comfy saddles and so never have time to visit.
They're all on an alternative Vara web forum (splitters - Dave S knows who you are...)
They're all a bunch of quiet arty types and prefer their bikes to speak for them.
They feel intimidated by the Dommie boys as they have more posts

Then again I could be wrong :D

oh Ok then  (tip toes away quietly)

You have a very good taste in motorbikes 8)

Badger

Why thank you !

Wish they were all in my garage now, the TA was a stop gap in 92 till I could get an AT but still got 8k under it's wheels, the white AT was just fantastic! really like the 93/94 model with gold wheels, traded that for a VFR 750 but missed the AT so much I got the silver one, that was a rocket! The fuel pump failed on that one at 3k two days before a trip but the dealer came out and fixed it for me the next day! That was 97, not sure you could get that service now!

You sound like your being tempted to the dark side Dave :?

Badger
19-04-06, 09:49 PM
The dark side isn't that bad, It's pretty swift and comfy at speed as it goes, seemed like a natural progression to me, but it is my mission to get all three in my dream garage!

650 TransAlp

650/ 750 Africa Twin (any model)

+ my Varadero

+ well , so many bikes so little time!

Well it is a bit quiet regarding Varadero owners but in comparison the Varadero uk site has 44,754 posts with 768 members compared to xrv.org covering 4 models with 38,606 posts and 796 members which has been running for 1 year longer!

(stats correct at time of posting)

Jeez, I must get out more!!

I wonder who'll be first you or DaveH. :)

MacP

The one I sat on was a 200 model in that sort of gold colour. Only just came in so needed prepping. Saw it again cleaned up and sparkly...

I needed to lie down as I started thinking about keeping the @ for best and using the vara for everyday... :D

Carport
26-04-06, 08:29 AM
Sorry, it would have to be all black, they just look a bit fat in any other colour.

MacP
26-04-06, 08:32 AM
I know what you mean but once on them its not an issue. Of the early colours the only one I didn't like was the red colour as it wasn't really red.

Strangely (but perhaps not surprisingly) my @ is a better blue that the varas.... :D

MCN mention a new Varadero by the end of this year...
1000cc twin Honda wanting a slice of BMW's action...expect it to be more rugged than the current Varadero...

Surely they mean a new Africa Twin yes - the bike Honda should have created when they first launched the vara...
