There has been a rash of problems with passwords over the last few weeks so I thought I'd post about it in case it helps anyone.

The password procedure has been tightened up considerably after our hacking event a while back. Extra modules have been installed, which mean that you will need to change your password every so often, and if you get your password wrong more than 3 times you will be locked out for a period of time.

If you forget your password there is a procedure to request a new one, and it will be sent to the email address on file. If the email address held is an old one or one the you can't receive mail on, then basically you need help from an Administrator to sort it out. Normally a quick email to admin@xrv.org.uk will get it resolved.

All parts of the password procedure rely on pop-up windows not being blocked, as when you need to change your password a window will pop-up in order for you to do that. So please make sure that pop-up windows are allowed for www.xrv.org.uk. We don't use any pop-up windows for any spamming or marketing or whatever, so you're safe to allow them!

Any questions or concerns then please post in here.
