I am definitely going to the Stella! I've booked the ferry from Newcastle for the 4th of July, giving me three days to get there. I'm travelling two up with full luggage and tent.
Unfortunately I won't be on a Honda for the first time in 14 years of touring, I'm running a 955i Tiger. I just wondered if there was a meeting place and time organized yet? I hope to be there for Saturday afternoon, I'd love to meet up with some of you guys if there's anyone going? I've no plans so might join some of the more experienced for some short trips over there? Be good to hear from you guys.
Regards.

Going by the calander there's nine of us all going, one way or another! Hope to see all you guys down there. I was just checking out the Aberdeen bikers forum, there's mention of a couple of bikers being spot fined in France for not carrying hi vis vests? That's new to me, but apparently last year it was introduced. I'll continue to investigate as I don't want any hassle from the law!
I need to get a headlight bulb as I robbed the one out of my spare box last month, also need new number plate with GB on it. I don't want to put a sticker on my bike! I've got a mate who makes up plates so I'll just get a Euro one.
See you there guys!

Can recommend a lovely campsite in Beaune, just south of Dijon and just off the Paeage. Around 400 miles from Calais if I remember so give you a good footing into France for your first day.
Think there's only one site there, all signed from the town limits.

Thanks for the tip about the site Rob, but i think thank we are going to find somewhere of the beaten track to camp.
The plan is to have an early lunch once of the train, then taking the "Route Nationals" until we've had enough then abit of light off roading to find a place to camp.
May use your site on way back, will need a wash by then....
