Vara Rear Suspension

How far can you raise it? Can you raise it to trail standards, or is this as high as it gets?

Hi Taz, ive just got a jackup kit from ebay (arrived today) lifts rear end up by 30mm. will post pics when fitted.

Although, I understand that you don't need a kit to raise the suspension on the @ and I thought it was the same with the Vara. Don't say Honda have made it more difficult on the Vara? Really, when I ask about raising the suspension on the Vara I was thinking of something along Enduro lines like this or even a bit more extreme:

Yes, I know it's on its centre stand in that pic with its wheels swinging in the breeze, but I'd really like the Vara to look like this once it's on its wheels too. You know, the ol' KTM look! Can't get enough of the dirt bike/SuperMoto look myself. 8) And you know, I was looking at a Vara only today and I have to say it's in dire need of some beefing up of its suspension. I mean, in stock form it just looks way too "roady".

Due to the width of the seat you would have to be a giant to jack up one of these monsters! If you're well high enough for it I suppose it would be possible. I'm not sure about raising the front though, you'd have to source longer fork legs from something else. With the jack up on the back it will change the bikes rake at the front and sharpen up the steering a tad!

Interesting project though, I'll keep an eye on how you get on, let us all know! I'm only 5'10" so high enough for me already but there's always someone out there interested.

Sounds good to me! I'm not looking to get any new front forks at the moment, only raise the rear.

Of course I will. But it might take a bit of time though. Not only do I have to scout out some @ plastics and sub-frame, but I also have to have them resprayed as well as fitted, along with getting some new wheels and front mudguard to go on the bike too.

Like me? I'm also 5'10", but have almost always had tall bikes. :)
