OK, Just sifting through the massive amount of bits and bobs in the StreetPilot II kit from gpsw.co.uk

I am happy with all of it, but how to mount the darn thing. I have been looking at the RAM mount, and trying to figure out how:

a) it fits to the GPS unit
b) it fits to the Africa Twin.

Anyone got a pic of a installed one?

Thanks muchly... I'm sure a few others may benefit in the next couple of days.

Hmm, not entirely sure if I got the same RAM mount.

I was advised to order the "Honda Compatible RAM", bec03, but looking at the pic below, it seems different as cie's.

Anyone fitted one of these? How does it fit to the bike???

The honda specific rammount was intended for goldwings and the like, according to the site, it looks like it needs to bolt onto something...

I got the BMW one, which has a cable with a plug. Now all I need is a plug socket on the NX and an extra ball joint, and I can swap 'em out when I feel like it. ;-)

Cie, and I, have the u-bolt that clamps around the handlebars.

You then attach an arm to the ball that's on the u-bol,t and the ball on the GPS mount fits into the other end of the arm.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

Yep, confirmed with GSPW today, whilst they originally said I wanted the Honda compatible RAM (bec03 kit), They now say I need the bec01 kit, with the the UBolt arrangement.

Seems the kit I have, bolts onto a hydraulic clutch mouting, which is obviosuly not available on a @.

They are swapping the part out for me. Impressed with the service so far... Hoping the part may be here in the next couple of days...

This kind of thing drives me mad, i cant buy one as it would end up in small bits all over the sreet and the neighbors would get a petition to have me moved ! I am a unbox it and plug it in man , reading threads on downloading this and that , reroute this software delete that !!!!! NO Just sell me one where some egghead has done all that , sell me a mount that simply fits and works ! How hard can that be for your several hundred pounds for F**ks sake !

I realise that **** happens, but how long does it take to stick the bottom part of a RAM mount in a juffy bag, stick a stamp on it, and pop it in the postbox? For GPSW, over a week it seems.... :-(

OK so its fitted to the bike now :D

But given that I've bolted the ram mount to the gps holder,I can't easily move the gps to the car and use it in that. :(

Is it possible to buy another holder and mount that in the car? :?

And no, I still haven't received the Version 8 upgrade, after 3 emails, and then the snail mail version. Please don't make me phone them
