currently doing up cheap bike(kle 500)has anyone used one for general cleaning of surface rust/polishing things before repainting swinging arm/frame

Bit small really - great for cleaning and polishing little things but for cleaning/polishing a swingarm or whatever you're better off with something bigger - it'll be faster and you'll get a more even finish.

For de-rusting steel parts, I'd recommend a wire "cup" brush (like this one here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WIRE-BRUSH-TWIST-CUP-100mm_W0QQitemZ280007478670QQihZ018QQcategoryZ632Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)) in a 4.5in angle grinder. WAY faster and not expensive, either.

PS - the ones with the wire twisted together are best, the others seem to go bald a lot quicker.

shhh ..£1.99 in Lidl for a set of 6 diferent sizes/types! :lol:

cheers for the replys, i've got a wire cup which i use in my drill but i need something smaller to get in the little places

Aha - well if it's just to get in the little nooks and crannies, then yes, perfect my friend... :D
