All,

I've recently treated myself to a Varadero - please see photo's in gallery section "my new bike"

Following a test ride on one I was hooked & manged to find a fully loaded example at the other end of the country at the right money & the right colour (black).

Once I'd got some more photo's & done an HPI I duly made plans to travel 600 miles to Aberdeen to collect my new machine.

As I needed to take my riding clobber I decided on an overnight National Express coach from London Victoria & I booked into a hostel in Yorkshire to break the journey up on the way home.

Apart from waking up in Yorkshire to a flat battery the journey home was uneventful, the bike absolutely fantastic.

I'm due to go touring the Breacon Beacons area of Wales over the August bank holiday & really looking forward to it.

My previous bike was a Deauville & I'm really enjoying exploring the extra power from the varadero.

Hope to meet up with a few of you really soon

Pete

Congratulations, our numbers are rapidly inceasing hopefully at this rate we can keep the teutonic hordes at bay led by defectors and collaborators Chad and DaveS. We have recently been infiltrated from within.

Hi Gregger - you take the hawk-eye of the month prize mate, good spot.

Yes it was the bike recently advertised on e-bay but my bidding didn't win it. We agreed on a deal off-line.
When I collected her she'd only done 1,880 miles - the owner had gone through a divorce & lost his house, garage etc & was keeping the bike at his friends house.

Unfortunately 7 months of non-running wrecked the battery but with a new one now fitted it runs a treat. I'm getting a service done next Saturday before we go to Wales just to make sure everythings ok.

Glad it's the week-end again so I can get out on it. (I commute to London every day via coach so don't use it weekdays)

Cheers
Pete

Thanks for the great welcome to this forum folks.

Re Wales - On Friday 25th August eight of us are off to Breacon Beacons area of Wales for a long weekend - we've a variety of bikes (Blackbird, 600 Hornet, VFR800, CBR600F, Fazer 600, 2 x CB500 & my Varadero) & have booked into a youth hostel.

We done a similar trip last year to Bangor & had a brilliant time (even on my Deauville).

The rides seem to be few & far between on this site - I guess you meet up most weekends but don't post it on the forum. Looking forward to joining some of you in the near future.
