Does anyone know of a custom exhaust fabricator ???

I`ve got a pair of Ducati carbon fibre Termignoni cans that I fancy fitting to my XLV750R but there will be a need for one-off headers to complete the job...ideally in stainless steel.

Thanks in anticipation.

powerflow make custom one off exhausts. They have a number of franchises in the uk. check out their website for details.

They made me a one off stainless exhaust for my TVR ... 3" stainless front to back, with a 4" tailpipe. minimal silencing.. £330 +vat fitted.

I love those pics!! I love the idea of dual pipes.. and was considering it my self.. in fact just contacted today a bunch of places asking what it would cost and how it would effect my bike... :D :D
Where did you get the pics or if it is your bike the dual pipes!!!

Tarka, I just got an email back from GAZELLE, :D and they have done an xlv 750, go to there site and click on misc in the gallery.. it look really great 8) ....
here is their email cut and pasted...(hope i am not breaking any laws here :? )

Hi,
yes we can build you a stainless system to any spec a twin silencer system see pictures of our xlv 750 system will work out to around £675.00 all in (no additional VAT) depending on the final spec

and a single silencer system around £450 to 550

our system is a lot lighter street legal and stamped BSAU193 no re jetting required from standard please give me a ring for more details 01239 841715

titanium is expensive roughly 3 times the price of a stainless system. There is a big weight saving on our stainless systems compared to the factory originals

our system has a slightly deeper tone but is still nice and quiet

Its the cost that gets me. thats one of the things i like about the @ as there is only one can to change and the reason i won't do anything to the dommie cause there is 2 cans.

I agree.. the cost is bloody scary!!! The prob with the aftermarket can for the @ is they are all so Bloody loud! :director: and i don't want the hole town knowing when i am going though, especially the coppers :salute:
I am not sure what i am gunna do.. but we shall see.

I love the idea of twin pipes though.. :D :angel2: if it is light and quiet and allow my boxes to sit lower.. i would be in heaven..

Is there anyone here that know a lot about exhausts :? and why one is set up for one type of bike and others aren't (I know all about flow and back pressure but not enough to adapt one pipe for one bike to another)? Like what tarka wants to do, what will this do to the bikes performance, or will do you just have to hope and rejet. :dontknow: There are soooooooo many end cans on ebay for other bikes and any muffle shop could bend me up so tubes.. (or some on here who is a steely and rides german @ type machine.. no hints intended  :angel12: ) .. sorry just thought streaming

There's already a thread on here talking about this conversion. Fat Bloke looked in to it seriously.
They were a horrendous cost though from memory. That was the cans as well though.
The look damn awesome though.
I think the system shown is a Two Brothers System. The pics are linked to an article written by a journalist testing the AT out.

WOW !! Thanks for so many replies, everyone.

Special thanks to 'Xander' about the Gazelle XLV system.

I only need to have header - to - silencer sections made,so hopefully it won`t cost a King`s Ransom....and seeing as they`ve already done an XLV there souldn`t be the development costs.
I`ve not looked at an AT but the back pipe on the XLV takes an extremely convoluted route.

I`ll try all the suggestions...cheers.

P.S. To answer the question about how would I know how it would run on twin pipes and what jetting.....the XLV has a twin pipe system as stock.

any reason why you cant specify that the silencers are supertrapp then you can set the Db level yourself. I run twin supertraps on the race buggy and its a simple 5 minute job to add or remove plates to either reduce the DB (eg for mot/race regs) or 'open. the system up for no noles barrred competiotion use.

Main thing with supertrapp cans well the one i had on my xtz was that is was butt ugly! :pottytrain2: (sorry jenna.. it was one of my first thought too)

My bike? I wish!

No it's not mine, I grabbed those from an article somewhere which has since disappeared. :?

It is, and it was. The article is gone. (I checked. I wanted to link to the article. I had copied the pics, they are on my server)

That can be helped. ;-)
If you plan to hold on to that dommie you'll eventually have to do something. My exhaust had rotted in half come 20.000 miles, so I went for the 2-1 laser. Looks pretty decent, and sounds great. :D

You can see on the 2nd pic of the two brothers cans, that one of the link pipes is VERY long - it goes under the suspension arm, then back round to the 2nd can.

I think headers are supposed to be of equall length - dont know why exactly, but think it affects gas flow. With the length difference in the pics, i dont know if this would cause big performance problems or not :?:

But yep - looks damn cool. I did think about it before buying my can, but had one look around the bike and thought no - too much hassle, and cant afford a pro to make it.

Looks to me like they only do cars.

I'd be interested in modifying my exhaust so that it's not in the way of my right heel! Anyone found a way round this (apart from smaller feet!)?

check out the newer Kerker sport and IDS ranges from supertrapp, even KTM America fits these as stock for all competition bikes!.. bit more stylish than the old bean can ones!

yep your right that in both pipes should be as near as possible the same length, however if one run is longer than the other you can off set the length difference by using a larger bore on the shorter pipe thus equalling the volume in each pipe. Plus i think on @ the difference would be taken up by the extra length the other pipe travels to get to the furthest head on the 'v'?

Try a mag called BSH.....Back Street heroes. It's a UK custom bike mag and you will find what you are looking for in there. I would look it up for you in one of mine but were moving soon and everything is packed away in boxes...sorry cannot be of more help.

Well that was a thought. Fortunatly for me, not only did i buy the dommie for a great price, but last year the 2 end cans were replaced for new ones, standard, but still new. so i should be ok for a bit but if i ever see a single can like that going cheap i think i'll get it.

I know a place where I can get 'em cheap but I don't know if they'll ship international.

Friend of mine bought one there, and they had a pile of B-choice (meaning a scratch here or a little dent there, nothing major or even very noticeable) ProDuros of the streetlegal type that were being sold for 200 euro apiece, with mounting HW and matching collector for the bike.

Unfortunately I already had my produro by then, ordered brand spanking new for 340 euro, so I haven't tried them myself, but I've seen one fitted to a transalp, and you really have to look hard for any scratches.

If you're interested you might want to give 'em a go on info@siccamasales.nl

Hi Jenna, I agree they definatly look a lot lot lot better, still sell the ugly ones though  .. On thing i could not find on the web site is if they are street legal or not.. but i guess that depends on the # of rings... on thing i would hate is to have to change pipes just for a mot.

Anton88.. I thought that too.. when i was prowling around the gazelle site i looked at there DR800 suzuki and they have a neat way around that.. http://www.gazbike.demon.co.uk/officewebsetup/Suzuki%20Motorcycles.htm scroll down...
I really like the look of that pipe setup... wonder how well it works..
