I really like this bike the Caponord Raid. This is how it came from the factory !! could do some serious miles on this.

Somebody on Ebay is selling 2 of them brand new now, wants too much though

Lovely bike

I think they“re the prettiest 1000cc traillies there are today, in black, or grey, or red, not beige :?

I really like the Caponord and the RSV 1000 engine is a real peach.

I think this version in beige, looks so purposfull, also look at all the extras that come with the RAID version.

I only saw one like that, the normal ones are much prettier in my opinion, the beige should go well unwashed though

Think I have to agree with you on this one your blondeness, deffo got a bit of insecty thingy going on.

Capo does seem like a nice bike otherwise, perhaps we should con Chad into getting one and "Black Pearling" it

Hi All
Just saw a blue one (Caponord) in local bike shop - drop dead gorgeous. Was sold same day it was traded in apparently!

Anyone know anything about these machines?

Apparently the engine“s great on power, and the latest test here in a portuguese mag says it“s better than every other traillie on the motorway at high speeds, the biggest worry about it seem to be the spark plug sockets or something like that, nothing serious. Bit heavier on fuel than the FI Varadero I think.

Thanks Pete Rock

I just thought it was luverly!! And pretty solid too. It was a 2003 / 2004 machine (I /think/) with very low miles for just over £3k. They seem to be reasonably affordable.

6k too much? The standard version is listed at just over 7k (don't know what they really sell for though).

If I had 6k I might be tempted but what would put me off would be the obligation to buy a brace :?

Who exactly buys bikes in pairs?

I took one out on an aprilla ride day a few years back.. it was very nice on the road, smooth good power delivery, nice in the turns, good seating position, breaks great (almost too good locked the front up one with out trying) it was pissing with rain and the protection was excelent.. I did find it a bit heavy on the dirt, but then again i was riding a 600 at the time and so it was a big jump and i am a wimp...

my take home inpression was : this is the bike that i will get when i still want to dirt road it, but am too old to get in to the hairy stuff.. My wife was on the back for part of the ride and she loved it... (but compared to an xtz630) anything would be more pillion friendly.

What is the brace thing?????

and i agree it does look like a wasp but i kinda like its waspishness....

I looked all over for one of these...twice!!

Once before I bought my AT, and again after the AT was nicked and before I bought the Vara. The Rallye Raid versions are as rare as hens teeth and , having seen a couple in the flesh, they really are a gorgeous bike.

Only thing that put me slightly off is that yeah, they do only come in that nasty beige colour...which is madness.

They dont make them anymore apparently, but it's a definite contender, particularly when you look at all the goodies it comes with! Now if they just made them in Black or Silver I'd be tempted to startt looking again!

I like the Capo too, but since I am 6"5 tall I found the seat too low when I tried one and it's not adjustable. At the time Aprilia's parts-backup was quite bad too (kind of non-existent) but apparently that has improved a lot if rumours are true.

Aprilia parts srvice was completely imaginary when I had a Pegaslo five or so years ago, weeks and weeks and weeeeeks of waiting for parts to come from Italy

Hope it's better, MUCH better now, as for the colour - paint it!

Whoo, I like those too. Like the BMW F650 but better looking and cheaper (esp 2nd hand). If parts situation has indeed improved this sort of bike must be the ultimate mid-range commuter. And not bad for longer trips either 8)

A Great Bike and underrated, so as you say cheap! I only swapped it (for a VFR!) 'cos I needed a bike that was happier over much longer distances.

The chaingang (www.chaingang.com ?) have a load of info about the Pegaso and the F650, if anyone's looking.
