I'm thinking of traveling down to Seville, maybe in the first two week of July.

I'd be grateful for some advice, and indeed anecdotes, on any of the following.

What are my accommodation options? (hoping to avoid the experience of sleeping slumbered over the tank with an umbrella over my back:)). Is the route strewn with campsites? Would travel-lodge type accommodation be the way to go? Should everything be booked in advance?

What fantastic sights or routes are not to be missed?

Should I take or avoid motorways?

What is to be avoided at all cost :)?

What should one not forget to pack?

How best do you plan for the different temperatures on route?

Thanks

If you don't mind camping then that's the way to do it. There's plenty of websites that'll give you the location of campsites (just do a search on "camping in spain" etc) and if you lightly plan your route so you arrive at an area each day where you know there's a few campsites around then you're sorted. Having said that on one three week trip we did ( South of France, Catalunya GP, Marbella then back) we only stayed at one campsite that I planned for on the net, the rest were just discovered en route so you'll be very unlucky if you don't find one.

There's so many ....... just go with the flow:thumbleft:

There's two schools of thought here I think. Personally I like to blat down the motorways (keep in mind there's tolls to be paid though .... usually not that much) get to where we want to be early enough in the afternoon so we have time to go exploring. Other peeps like to avoid the motorways and do their exploring "en route" on the little roads. Yer pays yer money & takes yer choice:D

Upsetting the local bobbies;)

As long as you've got PMT (Passport, Money Tickets) or in the bikers case PMTB (above plus breakdown cover) then the rest can be sorted as & when. Some sort of medical cover might be a good idea of course.

Stop frequently (park in the shade if you can) & get lots of water down you. I know you can get all sorts of wonderful summer riding gear but the temperatures can get a bit crazy so no matter what you wear you will sweat. (Coming back through central Spain one year the temp was over 40')

Most of the guys & gals on here are much more travelled than me and will probably offer better advice but there's a few thing to think about.
