Anyone (you know who you are!), have any ideas for what tyres I should order with the 990 Adventure?
They offered me Pirrelli Scorpions with the new bike, which I declined and then Bridgestone, also declined.:(
Checked the Metzler website, but they don't do 150/70-18's.:(
Unsure if Conti TKC 80's are available over here either. What do they supply with the bikes sold in the UK? Any good? Looking for good grip on and off road, with longevity too. Am I asking to much?

Doglegdon,
I was actually very surprised at how good the standard Scorpions are. Great grip on the road and they are lasting, 5k miles and still looking fresh. I do mostly tarmac and they are fine.
Size is the problem (isn't it always ) I'm very surprised the dealer offered you Bridgestones I did not think there were many alternatives to the Scorps , perhaps it is a geographical market thing and the tyre people do all sizes where you are.
TKCs are available for the 990 also metzler karoo's are good as well:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Have a word with Ned H (http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/member.php?u=4705) If you want TKC 80s he was going to get some shipped in to Manila from the US, much cheaper than we can get them in uk. Not sure what sizes, but it could be useful for you two to get in touch.

Just been re-reading GJ Adams Brighton to Capetown thread. I am amazed at the life he got out of his TKC 80s rears. I suppose it is down to using the right tyre on the right terrain, but over 10,000 miles from a rear is quite astonishing from any motorcycle rear tyre but especially from a TKC 80. It wasn't a fluke either cos he got over 8,000 miles from the next one too.
