Seriously though. I'm not surprised that you guys are feeling a bit nervous, I know I would be.
Some adventure though, and in a good cause too.

Not even going to have the splint off by then and I have been told that it's going to be at least another 8 weeks before I am allowed on the bike

I think my brain has started to get my body conditioned to this - last couple of nights , I've been awake at 3:00am. It's braw !! we'll be packing our bikes to leave JOG in daylight if it's a cloudless night. I love this time of year in West of Scotland !!!! Nowhere on earth does a sunset like Scotland in June/July - if you can stay awake long enough to see it !!!!!!
My erse has been in training too - cycling to work 3 days (100 miles) a week for the last 6 weeks or so (since I chucked the Ambulance job, and can leave for work as early as I like now).
Life is good playmates. You all stay safe , let's have no "oh ****" stories before we go .
Just read this post back to myself - what a load of rambling old pish :blah5::blah5::blah5::blah5::blah5:. But I'm not going to change it :D:D

Know you guys will be there for each other to keep each other going and the sence of achievement will make the saddle sore botties seem worthwhile :toothy6::toothy6: ?!
Good on EACH and EVERYONE who is doing this trip and excellent work re the sponsorship so far!

Yep, setting off on the Friday around 8 or 9 am, Camping at the JOG Campsite that night.
A convoy sounds good to me,
I have no idea which way I'm going, was thinking about straight up the M6 until it stops around Glasgow then just wing it. Not really looked at a map yet so don't know best way from there.
Anyone else interested?

I would like to go up by a different route than the one we're taking on Saturday. So I'm planning to go up Via Loch Lomond , Glen Coe, Fort William, The Great Glen , Inverness and then go to Thurso , and JOG.
I think ? so far, Bandit is planning to do the same and perhaps some of the bunkhouse crew may be interested in joining us , I discussed it breifly with Chad.
What do you think ?? plan a rendevous at the Erskine Bridge and .......??
HAPPY HAPPY DAYS :thumbright:

Erskine Bridge is the lowest bridging point on the Clyde - West of Glasgow.
Hold that thought and we'll get a reasonable time for everyone and arrange something the week before we set off .............
May need a fresh thread ????

Definitely count me in Jack can't wait not long now. :thumbleft::thumbleft::thumbleft:
I have just booked a room at the Seaview Hotel in JoG (£28) and the Lands End Hotel at errr, Lands End (£85). Quite surprised they both still had space. I am getting proper excited and nervous now. 850miles is a fooking long way.
I have also sent an email to everyone in my personal address book at work the other day about the Longest Day and asking for contributions to Macmillan. I planned to keep it all low key and expected just a few quid but the response has absolutely staggered me:D.
In 2 days about £160 has gone on the Justgiving website and I have a similar figure in cash waiting to be paid in (and more to come) plus promises for further £500+ including one of £250 provided I send him start and finish pictures showing completion in under 24hours and the contents of a collection for someone who recently died of cancer - his widow said give to a Cancer charity so about £150 is headed my way soon. FANTASTIC :blob5:
This seems to have hit the right spot at work. Everyone seem to think I am either some sort of red-eyed amphetamine crazed Lunatic or a charitable and saintly adventurer raising money for the needy. Whatever its all good and the money is rolling in.:thumbright:

Awesome work Austin
The room situation is best described as ''fluid''. What happens is people ring up and reserve rooms, so you can get told theres no rooms - then people cancel, so you ring up a week later and get told there's loads of rooms.
:( :( snot fair, I want to do it too.
