View Full Version : aux battery
right then you huggable lot  any one got any ideas on how to do an aux battery lead so i can plus things like compressors or air beds blowyuppythingys etc with out taking all the pannles off?
you could either up the amps on your battery and fit an auxillary power take off any were you want. The other way would be to buy another battery and link it in parallel, or fit a split relay so the bike charges one battery at the time and when the bike is at rest get a solar charger from maplins to boost your battery.

I'm a bit confused, i'm assuming your xr has electric start kit on it? as xr's don't have batteries. What do you want to do? do you want to put a battery on it and charge it or do you just want a cable giving a 12v power supply with the engine running. Give a few more details i might be able to help

i would poke around with a meter around the cable coming of the generator find a 12v supply and splice it. You could then either solder a cable to the loom or fit a relay and then the power cable. Just don't forget xr's dont have very much spare electric kicking around
