I have recently purchased a 1993 XLR200, which appears to be pretty much like an XR200 but with indicators, steel tank etc. Is this the right place for a thread for it, or should it come under the XR banner? I have a few queries lined up, but don't want to waste people's time in the wrong section...........

Any comments on the XR200 or XLR200 of about the same age would be welcome, such as which parts are similar to those on the XR (or XLR) 125 - exhaust, seat covers etc.

Well, the looks are more XR than XL, but if Mr. Honda chose to name it an XLR and not an XRL, who are we to argue?

That's a sweet little machine you have there! :love2:

the older (early 80's) xr 200r is a very different bike to yours, as my friend had one and we compared it to my xr200r, the frame, forks, seat, wheels, exhaust and angine is all different.
the newer xr200 is so rare that i have never seen one up close, a lot of the 125 parts are the same, but it seems to be just the engine bore and stroke which is different.
your engine is nearer the crf 230 engine, not the olser 2 valve type.
i hope that is clear.
cheers

I have a similar XLR200, I think it is pretty much the same as a UK XLR125 but with a bigger engine! I would like to know if the XLR125 exhaust is the same as my silencer has a hole in, or rather it did until I had it patched. Won't last forever though! Could anyone with an XLR 125 read the part number at the tailpipe end and post it here please?

hi zebra, you should be able to use a 125 exhaust, there are quite a few designs on these hondas, but a genuine honda one wont be cheap, you might be better with a micron one.
