Here's a suggestion for people considering filming their biking.
I recently bought this Sanyo Xacti C65 waterproof digital video camera.

It costs as little as about £150 (http://www.twenga.co.uk/prices-Xacti-VPC-CA65-SANYO-Underwater-camera-193825-0).
It uses SD cards, so I fitted an 8gb card.
It can be hand held but has a standard tripod mount on the bottom, so I bought a Ram camera mount (https://www.gpsw.co.uk/details/prod1999.html?OrdIDEnc=e2f97dd22abb39d4) for just over £20, and fitted it on my handlebars.

The battery life is actually the limiting factor. It will record on an 8gb card for far longer than the battery will last so I bought a spare battery and a battery charger (http://www.digitalmediastore.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1076&osCsid=4cf62621a8fd17129be43fdfa5fc3c75) that runs off a cigar lighter locket, meaning you can charge one from the bike while using the other.
The battery was a tenner and the charger about £15.
So for about £200 you get everything you need to make The Longest Day video, which was done entirely using this kit.
I used the free video editing software on my Mac but Windows has something similar called Moviemaker.
