Does anyone have any experience with the MRA Vario touring screen for the Tiger?
I'm thinking of swapping out the stock for the MRA, hopefully I'll suffer less buffetting that way.
Let me know,
JB

I'm not sure what brand of touring screen mine is, it came with the bike, but when I first got it I put the standard one back on (thinking it looked a bike more cool) within a week the touring screen was refitted, I couldn't believe how much difference it made to buffetting (considerable less) not only that but considerably less flies on visor. My touring screen is about 6" taller that the standard.

I've been bidding on a few on eBay recently and, as luck would have it, have won one and am still front-runner on another!
As soon as the first one arrives and I fit it, I'll let you know. It's an MRA one but just 3" taller than the standard one.

This might be og interest to you if your looking for a bargain, looks a bit shorter than mine though (although I might have exaggerated at 6" taller)

Yep, that's the one I'm currently "winning".
If I win both of them, I'll sell you one for the price I paid (plus postage, of course).

Whoops sorry, didn't mean to introduce competition

The MRA is the screen with the added, adjustable, spoiler at the top. The one you're winning is the Triumph Touring screen which is indeed a lot higher than the standard.
It would be good to learn your findings when it comes and is fitted. I'm 1.76 meters (5'10"?) and the wind around my head is doing my head in...
I'm doing some more research on the MRA, as it looks a bit better than the Triumph screen and will let you know.

I'm 6' 1" and although I still experience a bit of buffetting, its considerabley less with the tall screen.

I'm 5' 9" so will let you know once I've fitted it.
My gel seat arrived today. I've fitted it but not tried it out yet.

Oooh, that'd be good too :D
I have to stop thinking about farkles now, I'm getting dangerously close to emptying my bank account...
Caught myself looking at the tyres yesterday thinking "Hmmm... maybe get some new ones"

Jaqueslemac, you've far too much money! Gel seat indeed!
As you know, I use a sheepskin on mine, height of comfort for me and my passenger and only £10 from the local boot sale! (not so good when it rains mind you,,,,,,, ????? Ha ha!)
James, I'd be interested in that 2nd screen if you want a punter mate. Let me know the damage when, or if you get it. The wind noise on the Tiger is one of the worst I've ever encountered. :thumbright:

Err, somehow I've won both screens. They're described as "MRA" but not the Vario version.
After they've arrived, I'll PM you.
By the way, there's another one on eBay at the moment. Looks very tall!
Hi, I've got a MRA vario screen on my 1050 smoker and I'm 6' 2". its really good as it cuts down the buffeting and noise. much better than the triumph touring screen.

The first screen arrived. Not MRA at all, but branded "Triumph".
Anyway, it's about 3" taller and as I'm only 5' 9" it makes quite a bit of difference. The buffeting no longer affects my shoulders or my face, but has moved to somewhere about my forehead.
I'm off to Wales on Friday morning, so will give it a good test over the 200 or so miles.
Jim, I'll let you know when the other screen arrives. Perhaps I could take it to the National if you're going?
I have the MRA touring screen for my 01 tiger. It is definetly better than the standard but i still find it too short and am going to take of the spoiler and make a larger spoiler for it. Africatipple has it on his tiger and thinks its brill, but then he is smaller than me. I am around 6.4 so its probably more me than the screen.

For a 1050 unfortunately...
If I have any money left after buying the bits & bobs I need for the vacation, I might spring for the screen.
BTW, it's £5 cheaper on Triumph-Online.co.uk...

Ordered the MRA Vario from Triumph-Online.co.uk... Should be here tomorrow/Wednesday. :thumbright:
That's it, I'm all sorted for the vacation. Now all I need is two weeks of sunshine in Scotland, starting August 15th :toothy2:

Bless eBay. I'm now the owner of four screens for my Tiger!

Standard screen, Triumph touring screen, MRA screen and MRA Vario screen.
The photo above shows the various sizes.

This angle shows the differences in heights too.

The biggest difference, though is the curve. The Triumph touring screen is much more curved than either MRA screen.

I had the Triumph touring screen fitted when I went to Wales and back last weekend. It was a great improvement over the standard screen.
I've fitted the Vario screen and will try it out tomorrow.

I've received and fitted the Vario, massive difference! The curve did worry me when fitting, since I needed to tighten the screws quite a bit for the screen to sit nice & flush with the fairing.
But now it's on, I love it. Have the spoiler in the highest possible position, will try out other positions on the vacation.
I also think the Vario looks the best of the screens.
Now you just have to sell the rest of the screens :-)
AndyEss might be interested, he had the stock screen on his Triumph...
Happy trails,
JB
