Our best ever attendance, with some members travelling an awful long way to come along, BRILLIANT!

Just a few from me,

Me and Jay arrived Friday night just after 10PM, I pulled up outside the Plume to be greated by Vader and Chad, Vader took my bike of me to park it for me (still struggle with some bits on the bike) Chad put a pint in my hands. What absolute stars.

Vader had cooked us tea but I think he'd had a few beers by this stage

After tea we popped up to the Marquee, and after a little too much drinking, giggling and more drinking Pale rider asked for a little help putting his tent up, it looked like he had been knitting with his tent Friday night and it took lots of very drunk people to sort it

A small group of us went to Loos???? to the beach on Saturday, MoM did the route finding, taking the shortest but a very nice route there at a really relaxed pace. With our groupe there were Lord and Lady Vader, Cie, Slimie, Stanbloke and Nursey and me. We got there, parked the bike had a little walk into the town found a pasty shop and sat on the beach in the sun eating our pastys. Followed by ice cream and some great conversations about cottage cheese.

I had a great day with some of the nicest people :thumbup:

After the excitement of the ford our small group set off again for another epic dozen miles before stopping for lunch. Then another dozen miles before an ice cream. We found ourselves at Lydford Gorge. It's National Trust but was free entry for the day, so we went for a walk. As one of the walkers we met said "you're out of your natural habitat, aren't you?" It wasn't raining, the sun was trying to come out and it was very, very humid.

The gorge had a feature called Devil's Cauldron.

It's a series of rapids and very impressive. It felt like something out of Jurassic Park or from a rain forest.

Thanks once again for a terrific weekend. And thanks to Whealie for his chef skills and generosity. One Sunday morning I boiled some water in a saucepan for tea and realised it was the first time I'd unpacked my saucepans!

Great pics all round!! what a fantastic weekend, thanks to all looking forward to doing something else, crossing the channel on my dommie or something.

shame my bike broke down so much afterwards. Wheel bearing exploded, i had to remove the dreaded sparkplug eventually as it was so dirty. A random wire snapped killing the spark, rear light bulb went driving back down the M5 at night! But i still love her!!

Big thanks again to all that organised the event and led our rideouts and made me feel welcome!

Just to say thanks to all the people at the National who made me feel welcome - as the "baby" I was apprehensive - but it was good to see that it was as Recycler said - you all feel seventeen years old inside!!

In the Netherlands, ooh that'd make the ferry guys look up a bit, last night on the way back they were fussing and moaning about where to put 10 bikes, let alone 50 or more.

(Though I'm kinda curious what Chad's bike is going to sound like inside a ferry. :mrgreen: )
