:( HI all does anyone know of a 955i tiger screen
that actually keeps the wind blast of your forhead?
Standard one useless!
MRA Varioscreen useless!
Seems to be suited if you have very long legs
and a very short body, i am 6ft tall and have
to crouch down about 4 inches to get out of
the wind blast.
please can anyone help with my dilema before
i replace the bike..
Thanks Grahame..

I'm in exactly the same situation, my screen is about 4" higher than the standard and it just about keeps the wind off my chest (still considerably better than the standard) Russ

I've got the Vario and it works fine for me...

One radical solution I've seen is to go with the sports screen. This is short, very short.

This means you won't have the buffetting that you get normally, but your body as a whole will be catching a lot more wind...

Good luck,

JB

Due to the wonders of eBay I've managed to assemble a small collection of screens:

Triumph standard, Triumph touring, MRA and MRA vario.

Here they are again from a different angle:

I'm 5' 9" and found the original screen didn't protect me from mid-chest upwards.

The MRA vario and the Triumph touring screen are pretty much on a par, but I give the Triumph touring one the edge. It has more of a curve to it and I think it suits the bike more.

With the touring screen fitted I still feel the wind on each shoulder and from the helmet visor upwards. It isn't perfect, but gives me a smoother ride.

Wouldn't it be great if you could try them all out before you buy. My friend has the vario and thinks its brill so i got one. I'm 6'3" and it is better than the standard but not perfect. So, i rremoved the top spoiler bit and made a new one but twice the depth. This has helped a lot but it does now sit up very high and look at bit silly. I'll try and get a photo on for you to see what i mean.

In all my looking i saw the ones that you can get in america which is much wider. I would think they would be rather good for overall protection, but then with a spoiler on top to help stop the buffetting.

Hi Guys,

I've made a screen that will 100% stop any buffeting on a Tiger :thumb:

Unfortunately, it's not the prettiest screen in the world, but it works a treat.

You take one standard Triumph high screen, add a couple of MRA Vario hinges and make a perspex spoiler for the top.

You can find all the details on the TriumphRat website.

Obviously the MRA Vario was the inspiration but it did not work as it was not tall enough. The screen is now tall enough and the spoiler deflects the air.

Let me know what you think.

Regards,
Graeme.
