get the brake lever mount with 2 balls from RAM, cut one of them off. (dont get the one with the screwed on ball, the thread is wrong! and it costs more.)
drill and tap this ball 1/4"UNC, the standard camera mount size.
bond into it a 1" length of 1/4"UNC stud, (or a screw, then cut off the head.)
make a lock nut out of WHY.
its done! this screws into the bottom of the camera, locks off to stop it vibrating free, and you clean up the other half of the RAM bit and bolt it on the mirror clamp.
the wrist strap goes over the mirror to give a security failsafe, use the RAM arm from your existing GPS mount and off you go.
i only did it for a laugh but it actually works very well taking vibe free good quality videos. you could mount it behind the screen but mine is smoked, so i wouldnt see much! and wind noise gets a bit much +50mph, but take a tip from the TV boys and fix a little bit of foam over the mic.
