I must have fallen asleep again ..........
What was the final outcome of what we do for the longest day 2009 ?
I must have missed it and the thread is closed now ??????
Something about 5 capital cities ?????? maybe ????
Come on man keep up!
The 5 capitals has been decided on. Just cannot seem to decide where to meet up for the start, what time the kick-off should be, whether or not we should invite Boris, and a few other odds and ends.

Why thankyou Lutin !!!
5 capitals eh ????
....................scurries to find atlas ....................
I saw briefly the 5 capitals thingy.
I have looked at various permutations of routes both clockwise and anticlockwise from various start points and up to now the timescales are hampered by time lost on the ferries which have a habit of not being there at the times it would take to travel.
The quickest I can see this going is 23.5 hrs and 5-6 hrs of that is lost on ferry travel, boarding, embarkation etc. That route also meant we would do Ireland leg in 2h15m, which I could not get to fit with the boarding and embarkation timings with Ferry Operators whether the same carrier or different ones
As a result it may mean doing this over 2 days
Could any one else look at this

Starting at Kew Gardens London on Sat 20th, then Fishguard via Cardiff Castle for 11:30 sailing to Roslare.
move on to Make A Wish Foundation Dublin then through the city past Customs House wait for 20:00 ferry at Belfast.
Over to Stranraer then on to Edinburgh Castle for sun up on "The Longest Day".
and its all on the TLD 2009 thread:thumbup:

And just to say there is a lot going on behind the scenes with various bods organising things and going for big sponsorship etc.
Make a Wish are delighted we have chosen them as the charity.

Things seem to be decided then, Do I need to book on the ferry or do I pay someone some thing to reserve a place.

When all arrangements and decisions are made it will all be put onto the general forum. We are still in relatively early stages.
