Here are some pictures of me and my (t)rusty steed in the foothills of Braintree. And they say Essex is flat, just goes to show what they know.
In the second picture if you use a magnifying glass and some imagination, you can just about see my house. It's a bit isolated but the council tax is dirt cheap.

It's amazing how the countryside changes in a few hundred miles between us!

Yes, I think it's the volcano at Salisbury that causes the dramatic geological change.

Damn! I leave the country for a few months and look what happens! I think we'll be needing a hosepipe ban next year... 8) Yen, did you get some cowboys in to do your guttering? It looks terrible.

Look I know this aint an Africa Twin pic but I've got to show it to someone.

Picture the scene....It's snowing like mad in the Atlas mountains and getting dark. We find a village full of dodgy looking geezers and a sort of hotel. We get some of the worst rooms in the world and the owner starts smashing up some of his chairs for firewood. "I cook you very nice meal, very cheap." He says grinning like a loon.

Behind him I can see Tony shaking his head and mouthing the word NO. I thank the proprietor for his offer and decline. Later on Tony says that he got lost whilst bringing his luggage through and went into the kitchen by mistake. He is a bit upset but determined to get a photo in the morning.

Next morning after sleeping with the light on all night, he slips into the kitchen whilst we keep a look out. The owner turns up and I distract him by making him a gift of my water carrier that's been annoying me for a few weeks. Later on I see the photo which I attach below.

I'd just like to say this is a small copy, the original is much better, especially zoomed in.

Geezzzzzzzzzzz  I can just feel the clinical clean atmosphere that kitchen glows out!!
Reminds me of a trip to madagascar, if ain't tinned, sealed or fresh from the sea you don't touch it :?

Weren't you guys ever students? Unfortunately I have seen worse than that. I don't want this thread to turn into the "world's worst accomodation" competition but I stayed in a hostel in the Atlas (wow, deja vu) in the off season. It had the works; open sewers, matresses that moved, owner that you made a special effort not to turn your back on. Luckily because it was the off season the kitchen wasn't open for business. Probably a good thing.
