View Full Version : London
Any of you guys who are based / work in london keen to meet up for lunch & a pint during the week? I work around the Liverpool St / Broadgate area. Unless busy, I am totally flexible as to time & location.
Cheers

What a spiffing idea. So long as I don't have to wash my bike!

Also, does anyone still go to High Beech? Do the oiks still stare at everyone that pulls in on the wrong sort of bike. We could meet up round the corner and turn up en masse. (As long as I don't have...... etc)
High Beech - whats that? Is it the North London equivalent of Box Hill? You get lots of strange looks there from the leather clad brigade when you turn up not only on a different bike, but also caked in mud following a days greenlaning around the area.

I think it is the equivalent yes. It's in Epping Forest and now has speed humps, which is excellent for showing off to the rorty brigade, when you stand up and fly over them and they just compact their haemorroids (must spell check that).
Spent most Sundays of my yoof there, but now I go there about once every two years. They don't appear to have missed me!!

Yep I am also up for a evening a month as long as it is not on a Thursday. Ohh and this month is out :? as we are heading off to sunny weather next week 8)
If you make it a lunchtime, post up here.
I get up to London occasionally for meetings and sometimes have lunchtime free so it would be nice to meet up.
Yeah - lunch is what I was thinking about. Anything to break the routine of sandwiches at the desk. Let me know when you are over this way next.

did this ever happen ?
Now its officially out of season .. any London Bikers fancy doing some thing over the next few months ?
Never happened.
Still keen to meet up with any of the London Brigade. Lunch is always preferred to a beer after work as I usually ride to work. To be honest, it will have to be in the new year now - stupid season & all that.

Do you ever go to the Ace for a coffee ?
I call in every now and then for a quick look around the park if Im passing but have never gone in for a coffee. I especially like stopping in when the bike is filthy / covered in mud, get lots of strange looks from the guys who have spent all day polishing their shiny bits.

Silly Season over, and my bike gear just about fits after the Chrimbo feasts. If everyone in the city wants to meet for lunch, lets sort a date out.
Back at work this week but its a bit hectic. How about next week sometime? Any day is OK at this stage (untill the diary starts filling up)
Lunch!
This Friday
Anyone keen?

Somewhere, I can park my bike easily and in view would be good. I'm not worried about theft, just worried in case an innocent member of the public brushes against it.

Why? - because they will get covered in crud/ dirt & oil? :compress:
Mine, dare I say it, is reasonably clean at the moment so I dont care where it is parked - other than for security.
I work around the broadgate / liverpool st area, lots of bike parks & pubs / greasy spoons for lunch. Or I can travel to where you are.

Good idea, saves me putting my bike gear on. I have underground carpark for you and a decent cafe. Am near Mile End station
Cool.
Will PM you later in the week to confirm. Might even take the "f*****g tube*, its only a couple of stops & dont have to worry about suiting up.
But then again - maybe not. See what the weathers like.
