I've decided I need to buy some heated gloves.
Any recommendations?

I have been looking at the Chilli stuff but a bit dear at £109 for the textile and £129 for the leather pairs.

Then there is of course the Clan heated clothing range, mates got one of their jacket liners and reckons it is brilliant.

The clan goves seems a bit more reasonable but still a lot of money, then again getting rid of those frozen finger tips might be worth it after all!

I'm using oxford heated grips at the moment , and to be honest find my finger tips still get numb.
No experience of heated gloves, but think they may be better then heated grips, disadvantage of coare is the wiring harness may be a bit fiddly.

Any feed back on the heated gloves Dave?
I haven't bought any yet.
Mind you I'm thinking of spending my Xmas money on a set. My fingers have been numb again today even with my heated grips on full blast.

Let me know how you get on with the heated gloves. I still haven't plucked up courage yet to buy any. Struggling on with my heated grips at the moment.

Can't really make my mind up, backs of hands are toastie warm, but the heating elements in the fingers stop a little short. Some mornings I swear I'm getting frostbite of the fingernails.

Definately an improvement, but maybe there's better stuff out there ?

Thanks that's worth knowing.
Its the ends of the fingers that are important to me.
I have heated grips anyway and everything else is warm apart from the finger tips!
I might pop in to the BMW dealer to see what they've got.

the xrv i just got came with the oxford grips as well, gatta agree with banger, they dont warm the tips of your fingers well but are better than nothing.

one other thing to remember (besides the wirng in of them) is there is a little switch you can mount on the bars to turn them on and off. was told by the dealer to remember to always make sure they are turned off when you finish with them cos even when the key is out and the bike locked away, the grips will still work, thus draining your battery.

IMHO if that's the case they haven't been wired properly.
Mine take a feed from the starter switch and only work when the engine is started.
The dealer did mine when the bike was new.

mine looks like its run straight from the battery. but still they work. lol

Well yes they would work ok but the risk is you can leave them on and drain the battery!

coming from a bike that had no hand guards, you'd be surprised how effective they are at keeping the wind chill off your fingers though.

Just to clarify - it's not 'wrong' for the Oxford grips to be wired straight into the battery; the instructions give 2 ways of wiring - via the ignition or via the battery.

For lazy toads like me, the battery is the easy option, so although it comes with its own set of potential battery draining risks, it was easier than pulling bits of the wiring loom to pieces.

Has anyone tried the heated gloves with a battery in a pouch on the back?
