Paul,
Here's my humble opinion about online spending, there are two possibilities:
1. information being captured while on the internet, with all the millions of bits of information flying round cyberspace, what is the possibility of them grabbing your details, about as likely as me walking down the street and picking up a fifty quid note. ok they could target you intentionally but do you have that much money??????
2: how the information is handled by the vendor, now this makes life a little more difficult. Do they store the information or do they pass it in an encrypted form directly to the bank, if they store it on their servers then how secure are the servers, again in my humble opinion stick to known suppliers and if it is too cheap to be true then it probably is
again this is just my own opinion i bet Dave will be along shortly to shoot me down in flames

Sie is absolutely spot on. I've been buying things on-line for many many years now and I've never ever had a problem. I've also been spent many thousands of pounds as well.
The banks spend many thousands of pounds on making sure that on-line banking is totally secure. The *only* area that can be exploited is when you get some scrotes phishing by sending you emails that look as though they've come from the bank. Banks will never send you emails asking you to change stuff or log-on. They still catch many people out though!
