I am also going to the tesh rally in April if anyone is intrested?.

Will be there again. The new venue, also used last year is fantastic compared to the one that was used a couple of years ago.

See you all there. Maybe this year we can outnumber the GS's

I quite liked the old venue - fond memories of the old Somercotes Serengetti, herds of roaming wildebeast, etc! The new venue is better though. I'll be arriving late Friday night this year, my students final exhibition opens the same night - I'll have to lay off the pop 'til I get to Ripley. Someone save me a camping spot.

Hey, how about an xrv.org banner to rally the troops around?

Damn, Im Diving on the South Coast on the Sunday, scheduled for an early start too.

Might see if I can get away on the Saturday, pop up or something.

Who else is on the rideouts cos my mate Glynn tells me they are near enough booked up. Ted Simon has just confirmed as well.
Should be a top weekend. I'm heading there Friday morning, see ya there. :P

Who else is on the rideouts...?
According to the HU website all the rideouts are fully booked. I shall probably go for a bimble in the Peaks during the days. Used to be my stomping ground so I'll look out some old OS maps and find some AT-suitable green lanes to ride.

I am booked for the Friday and Saturday at HU, meeting up with mates to go to the motogp at donnington on Sunday so fun filled weekend by the looks of it!

Just checked the HU website and only 25 place left.

I'd be interested in that!

Iain,
I'm still not sure about coming up for the whole weekend (xrv_jim's trying to persuade me!) but I'd like to meet up with you for the day out if that would be ok?
What time would you be setting off on your green laning?

Never mind Jim, I'm staying the whole 3 days. Make use of the weekend pass & all that! The amount of greenlanes suitable for @'s, epspecially if we have rain, is very limited. I live locally & on a number of occasions i've had lads on their KTM 200's zip past laughing at me sweating away trying to pull the front end out of a muddy rut etc. There isn't enough events geared for us touring guys so I'm definitely not missing any of this!
Looking forward to meeting Austin Vince again, He is a really good laugh, even more so when beer is added.
I'm chums with Glynn who has organized the event, so on the day I'll see if I can blag a few more spaces for the @ clan on the ride outs!
We'll have to make a camping compound on Friday (are you coming down Fri) so that we can throw abuse as the GS compound :violent3:
I have also noticed that if you strap a crate of Stella onto the back of the @ along with your camping kit it balances the whole bike out perfectly!!! :thumbright:
Drop me a line & we'll set up the 2005 @ camp , drink beer, be merry & talk ****e!! :D

Chris,

I should be there Friday to Sunday as well. I'll be arriving late on Friday though due to the clash with my students' exhibition opening (but I'm going to try a disappear early ). I'm still hoping DaveS will get there too. It looks like there should be a healthy contingent of site users there - it'd be a shame for him to miss the event.

Save me a camping spot:!:

I'd be interested in some light trail riding and I'm sure fewtrees will be up for that too.

BTW - give Glynn my best - and ask if he took his stall to the Into The Valley Rally at Fridaythorpe this year? No doubt I'll catch up with him, and everyone else at Ripley.

If any of you guys cannot make it - let me know. I'll buy your ticket happilly!

Sorry No I've decided its too much for my first trip away!

Ne'er mind Dave, next year eh? I think I read on the HU site that they might even do two UK meets.

This years event is booked up now anyway.

...What time would you be setting off on your green laning?
Dave, I'll probably go out for a ride on both days. You're welcome to come on either. Given the evening's entertainment, I'm sure it won't be particularly early in the day. Probably do a couple of hours, stop for a pub lunch, then a couple of hours back. We'll arrange something definate closer to the time.

You guys will not believe what I have done!! Talked to a mate tonight and asked him if he is going to the Horisons meet next month....Next month ermm no mate I think you probably mean this weekend

I don't know how the hell I got June and July confused but did so and therefor not even planned or got anything ready for this weekend. Worse of all my inlaws is visiting from South-Africa and only flying out on Saturday. The mrs said it's fine I should go and will probably ride up early Saturday morning.

Just can't believe I got this wrong!! Hope to see you guys there on Saturday and Sunday, save me some space please 8)

Latest weather says it won't be raining at Ripley this weekend!

I don't think it will matter either way!

BTW. There will be a mobile speed camera on the: B6179 Ripley to Marehay Rd. This is the road that the farm entrance is on and is positioned within the 30mph limit. It shows that the police are expecting us..

For a full list in that area see http://www.slowitdown.co.uk/camera_locations_list.asp

Finally got the bike back into one piece. Not been a good week; the rectifier packed up (so just finished fitting a new one), and the tyres I ordered only turned up today (and I managed to pinch the front tube - first time I've ever pinched a tube, arghh!). So, running an hour behind schedule, but just about to set off. See y'all soon!
