Just sorting through my photo's of the Horizons Unlimited meet at Ripley in 2004. Just wondered if any of these bikes belonged to anyone here?

This one owned by a pyromaniac East Anglian who convinced me an AT was the bike to replace my TDM which...

...is showing it's rear end here.

Thats mine in the 3rd photo. Im in the green jersey, the other guy there is Doug - a past user of this site (DougieB) whos bike got stolen just before he started his RTW trip. Replaced it with an Enfield of all things!
We were camped along with another twin right opposite the GS riders club banner, & next to those noisy fu**ers that had their generator running late into the night (they did lend us their large capacity pump though, which made blowing up the airbed so much easier).
And i believe that the blue TA belongs to a guy from Belguim that was there.

Excellent. Where did you get the seat from Gibbo? I have been admiring it ever since I got my AT. Looks very comfortable. If you'd like a 4 megapixel copy of the photo (and I think I have a couple more), PM me your address and I'll send you a disk.

Ah yes, those boys know how to camp in luxury. I seem to remember they had a sofa! Also they knocked up a wicked bacon buttie in the morning. Weren't they from Overland Solutions or something similar?

The seat is from P&P seating in Birmingham. I have posted their details on this site a long time ago - it forget now. They have a website. The guy there has done quite a few AT seats like this, I had seen one at Horizons a couple of years ago & just sent him my seat and told him what I wanted over the phone. Its great for 2-up touring as my missus is short & she can now see over my shoulders. Also, under heavy breaking, she dosent slide forward & crush my nuts against the tank! I still use the std seat for solo riding. Cost - £20 for a second hand seat (from iswooley I believe), £113 for P&P and a tenner for postage. Quite expensive but worth it to make 2-up touring a bit more comfortable. Quality is top class. Next time I am up that way I might call in & get a bit more foam in my part of the seat, at the moment its slightly lower than standard & cramps my legs a bit.
I have a pic, I will re-size it & post under a new topic later.
I'm very worried by the fact that everybody knows everybody at these events.
Perhaps I should turn up and the noone would know me and I wouldn't know anyone else and would really muck things up..... :bigsmurf:

Actually everyboby dosent know everyboby at these meets. Generally it is a very friendly bunch of great people. I think there were actually a few users of this site there but I didnt realise until after when people were talking about it on the forum. Maybe we need a secret handshake or something!

Well, obviously I was camping only 10ft from Gibbo and he didn't even say hello! Brrrm Tssk! Mind you, I was on my TDM and didn't have an AT then. Still, hardly an excuse.
Seriously, I didn't (don't) know anyone there. Had a great time first time there. Was treated like a long lost brother second time...I'd missed a year in between and lots of folk wondered where I was.

If it was you on the TDM then we did chat. Cant specifically remember your face though, it was one of those weekends - late nights, lots of drink, many people etc, etc.
P.S. I'm not frowning at your TDM in the photo, even if I have a look of disdain on my face.

I apologise unreservedly, retract my previous statement and will defend your 'top bloke' status with my life. As you say, it was one of those weekends! :drunken:
And, even I didn't remember my face on Saturday morning.
