Spent the day at Nantmawr quarry near Oswestry watching a new style (to the UK) of extreme enduro. Very spectator friendly course with loads of jumps, nadgery bits, and plain weird obstacles (sea of tyres, piles of logs, etc.). David Knight was the main crowd puller, and to make things interesting he set off 5 minutes after everyone else. Didn't really make a difference though because he caught them up on the first lap because of the bunching through the woods. He is in a completely different league.

I went and stood at the top of one climb and almost gave myself vertigo. I was convinced that some of the riders would be going home in the ambulance. As it happened riding up a 20m wall was easy for these chaps, and in fact there weren't any real showstoppers for anyone.

Anyway, I took some photos (which I'm afraid I can't deep link to) which i thought I might share. They are here: #1 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15356116/), #2 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15356199/), #3 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15356251/), #4 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15356330/), #5 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15356388/) and #6 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15356439/).

Great pic's Iain. Are you using digital or traditional camera gear?

I went digital (Canon G2) a couple of years ago but I've had a hankering to get my old OM1 back out again. I'm going to use it for an MA project I'm planning.

Are you using digital or traditional camera gear?

I traded my Canon T90 for a EOS300D in the middle of last year. Unfortunately I have to start again with lenses as my old FD lenses aren't compatable with the EF lens mount on EOS cameras. I'm still using the kit lens, 18-55mm.

The move to digital has been well worthwhile. Today I took over 150 photos, which would have set me back 5 rolls of film in the past. I have to take so many as my strike rate is pretty appaling! Plus I was messing around with ISO settings, something that's much harder to do with film.
