We have over 440 members and still growing. Some members are almost your neighbours.. Hmm.. Who are they? Does Dave really look like a green jelly with an eye in it?
Why don't you find out? DaveS and I would like to know if a regional monthly or bi-monthly meetup was organised, would you be up for it? Would you like a regular rideout and get together? Would you be prepared to take on organising a local run meet/run out?
We've got to test the water on this one so please, lets have your thoughts..

I've already got a carb balancing kit though. Shame my carbs never seem to go out of balance.
I can get them out of balance for you if that helps?

Well, I've still got fewtrees balance gauges on my table where he left them! Guess I'd better go out and sort out my carb balance.
Monthly meet. Why not!
Yep,
Meet up/ride out sounds good.

should we not start a thread with what we all do and a pic ?
then at least when we meet we will have some idea of who the hell is who.

I've just had my carbs balanced (allegedly), would be nice to meet up locally or arrange day trips to other regions, don't think i'm quite up to the Haggis Run just yet.
If you weren't all so shy we would already know your occupations from the profiles, a rogues gallery might be a good idea, at least then if we don't meet we have some idea who we're insulting

Good idea.
Start one up, but be prepared for some ugly mug shots!

I remember a thread where we all owned up to our occupation. It seemed like everyone was in IT with the odd arms dealer and money launderer thrown in.
It'd probably be more illuminating if we said how we'd really like to earn a living...and you can't all be p*rn stars OK!
As for photo's, I'm not certain I want to know what you all look like. After all I might prefer DaveS as a one eyed amorphous green blob.

Aw.. let's bung our real photo up, just like Jim... ;-)
If you live in or near North/East London and fancy a bit of green lanning - feel free to join us on regular rides every second Saturday of the month.
Next ride is this coming Saturday - send me a PM. We tend to start early to avoid the traffic and the heat.

I don't mind meeting up but a call me awkward but I'm stuck down near Dover, Kent which is rather out on a limb.
OK for France but pain in the butt if you want to go anywhere other than London. (Andylandy is closest to me but hes now got a vara)
As for green laning YES ..... but I do that with another group and not on my @. (not that mad  ...... 105Kg of KTM v 210 kg of @).
There's 200 miles of greenlanes / Rupps/ boats etc in Kent trouble is only few are siutable for the @ - ie Pilgrim ways - recently its been resurfaced in parts and is rather boring, so would siut the @
As for pictures of my face .....nah...someone might recongise me :?:

if there's any meetings up in the midlands, i am more than up for it.
perhaps someone could organise an annual event for everyone to meet up?? i know a few people would have to travel a fair distance but an annual pilgrimage might not be a bad idea????

I don't know if it's of any interest to you guys....but we've organised a V-Strom get-together at the National Motorcycle Museum (http://www.nationalmotorcyclemuseum.co.uk/museum/index.htm) in the Midlands!
It takes place a week Saturday, which is the 9th July, arriving by 12 noon.
So it would be great to see any of you there!

If by in the Bristol Area you mean not in the City but somewhere nearby I would be up for that. Unfortunately I always get lost in the city itself.

Hi, I know I'm new in here but it seems to me that because people live all over the place (UK) What about a monthly meet in a local area so people can actually make it without traveling to far from home.
i.e Guilford for the south boys, yorkshire for the middle and so on , all the rideouts / meetings I've seen so far unless your willing to travel 3-4 hours before you start is a bit unfair to some people.
Please can we come up with or devise a plan so we can get evry one involved ...........Many thanks :o :?:

I know what you're saying about riding 3 to 4 hours to get to a meet but I did two of those last year (Skye and the Lakes) and the beauty of it is you get to ride roads that you wouldn't normally see and get to meet some of them northern monkeys. :D
:munky2:
Am working on a evening meet up but haven't found the right pub yet.
Thinking of the A1 corridor just north of Leeds, I think thats about middle of the northern group.
Any idea's most welcome.
Anyone interested in making it a monthly thing, then we could use it for planning bigger ventures etc.

IanS,
I'd support a monthly eve meet or even a Sunday morning meet, we'd catch most of the North England with that one..

OK fellas...

For each of the areas above (Scotland may need splitting up - let me know) would someone like to put their name forward as being the main lead in sorting out a monthly meetup/ride?
We can also start a thread for each area so you can thrash out the details and once you get some consensus, we can publish it so that members (especially new..) can see there's a social side to this too..
Good idea Fewtrees! I might suggest the South East and London is grouped a bit smaller - although it depends on how many we have of course. Lets see what sort of response we get first.
Don't forget there is a meet planned at Fleet Services in Feb (see thread) this might be a chance to thrash out some details. Like the map though good effort! :hello2:
I'm happy to take on North East and Yorkshire & Humberside. The meeting day would have to float a little each month to cope with shifts.
We could also move the venue around to make it fair on everyone.
i.e. nearer Humberside one month, Northeast next etc.
Could also incorporate North West for now, but that might be to bigger a patch for travelling.
Any suggestions what you guy's want to do at the meets.
IanS
