Just got my bike test at the beginning of the year after driving as a learner for thirty years. I thought I had my heart set on a 650GS. BMW made me feel I was a time waster and told me I had to prove I was a "serious customer" before they would consider restricting a bike for a test drive. The Honda dealer in Ballymena converted a Transalp while I waited and let me have a go, no attitude, no airs or graces. I was converted and convinced. BMW lost a cash sale on a new bike. Honda didn't.

We only have the one BMW dealer in N.I. Maybe they knew I was a Transalp rider at heart. :P

Glad to hear you didn't go German. Surely they make the ugliest creations on 2 wheels - I don't care how good they are.

If only the Japs made boilers, nothing would breakdown.......

Right choice the BMW Engine ally just rots under the paint, we have three 650s at work all of them have crap engine paint.
