From our DVD I have extracted a small portion of riding.
Download it from
http://www.xrv.org.uk/media/island.mp4
and use Nero or VLCplayer to watch it.
VLCplayer is a free player that takes most formats. Download it from

Excellent clip, love the soundtrack too - it's spot on! :headbang:
I've noticed that you guys don't like using side bags and load everything on the top of the bike. Isn't this a bit too top heavy?

I don't know...
...between this and the re-emergence of those photies from the 'motorrad karawane' guys on this page, I'm starting to think I should be doing more than just work n back on my bike! Great stuff!
Question from a guy who's done no offroading before though: people seem to stand on the pegs all the time when they're heading on to the rough stuff, is it a different set of rules when you cross a river?

We like sidebags but we didnt have any at the time, now we have home-made alu-bags alá Touratech. It was not much space to move on with the luggage on the seat. =) and a lot heavy...

Last time I crossed a river I was sat on my arse but in hindsight it would have been easier stood on the pegs. I might have been able to see through the water and got sight of those rocks beforehand... Plus it keeps the weight nice 'n low which helps..
I'd recommend anyone take their AT off-road with the right tyres, otherwise it can make the experience a bit more difficult..

Since the bottom of the river was so soft from time to time I found it less terrifying to sit, ready to put my feet down if neceserry, but if standing the gravitypoint of the bike lowers and it is easier to control. Didnt test it in the rivers but on soft sand that was what I was doing, full throttle and ass up every time the bike wanted to fall over saved me many times.
The TKC80:s was really good but in the desert where the rear wheel spins all the time the tyre wears fast, about 1.2 mm / 100 kms
:blob2: :blob3: MORE MORE MORE :blob4: :blob5: :) :D
